2019 Adelphi Baseball Schedule
The Adelphi University Panthers baseball team will open their 2019 season on the road against the Franklin Pierce Ravens on Saturday, March 2. The team’s home opener is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6 against the Felician College Golden Falcons.
Adelphi will play a total of 55 games in 2019, 27 of which will be played at home at SPYder Field in Garden City, New York. The Panthers will face off against conference opponents in 26 games, and non-conference foes in 29 contests.
Highlights of the 2019 schedule include a four-game series against the nationally-ranked University of Tampa Spartans from March 15-17 and a three-game weekend series at home against the Mercy College Mavericks from April 12-14.

Key Players to Watch in 2019
2019 is going to be an exciting year for Adelphi baseball, and there are a few Key Players to keep an eye on.
Leading the team in home runs last year was Senior outfielder Brandon Melendez, who is looking to build on his success in 2019.Also batting cleanup and playing first base is Senior third baseman Angelo Navetta. Another player to watch is Sophomore catcher Johnathan Lizotte, who had a strong rookie season last year.
On the pitching side, Senior right-hander Chris Falcone will be the ace of the staff. He had a great 2018 campaign, leading the team in wins (8), ERA (3.27), and strikeouts (71).Keep an eye on these players and more as Adelphi looks to make a run at the conference title in 2019!
Adelphi Baseball: A Brief History
Adelphi baseball has a long and celebrated history. The team has been competing since 1915, and they have amassed an impressive record over the years. The team has won 22 conference championships and 11 National Championships making them one of the most successful programs in the country. In recent years the team has struggled to keep up its winning ways, but they are hopeful that they can turn things around in 2019.
The 2019 Season in Review
The Adelphi University Baseball Team had a great 2019 season, with a record of 36-12. They started off the season strong, winning their first eight games. They had a bit of a slump in the middle of the season, but they came back strong and won their last eight games. Adelphi made it to the NCAA Division II tournament, but they lost in the first round.
The team was led by senior captain Joe Dweck. Dweck was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, and he was also named to the All-Northeast-10 First Team. He led the team in batting average (.360), home runs (9), and RBIs (39). Other leaders on the team included junior pitcher Mike Giordano, who led the team in wins (9), ERA (2.22), and strikeouts (91), and freshman infielder Anthony Rocco, who led the team in hits (56) and stolen bases (22).

The Adelphi Baseball Family
The Adelphi baseball family has a lot to be proud of. The team has won back-to-back conference championships and is one of the top programs in the Northeast region. Head Coach John Creighton has been named conference Coach of the Year three times, and the team has produced multiple all-conference and all-region players.

A Look Ahead to 2020
As the end of 2019 comes into view, Adelphi baseball is already making preparations for the 2020 season. The team is set to take on a demanding schedule, which will test their skills and resilience. Here is a look at some of the key games and events that will be taking place next year.
The team will begin their season with a Home game against Lehigh on February 29. This will be followed by games against Lafayette, Niagara, Monmouth, and Stony Brook Adelphi will also be facing off against Hofstra in a three-game series The first game of this series will take place on March 27, with the final game taking place on March 29.
April will see the team take on Sacred Heart Fairleigh Dickinson and Manhattan. They will also have a home game against Siena on April 4. The following week, they will travel to Boston to play Northeastern in a three-game series. This will be followed by games against Quinnipiac, Rider, and Marist.
Adelphi’s final regular season games will be played against New York Institute of Technology in a three-game series. This series will take place from May 15-17. Following this, the team will compete in the Northeast conference tournament The tournament is set to start on May 21 and will conclude on May 24.
