Alvernia Baseball’s 2020 Schedule is Here!

The Alvernia University Golden Wolves baseball team announced their 2020 schedule today. The Wolves will open their season on February 15th with a Home game against the Kutztown University Cougars.

Alvernia will play a total of 40 games in the 2020 season, including 22 conference games. The Wolves will look to build on their success from last season, when they went 19-18 overall and 12-12 in conference play

Some of the highlights of the 2020 schedule include:
-A three game series at home against conference rivals Arcadia University on April 3-5
-A four game series on the road against conference foe Cabrini University on April 17-18
-A three game set at home against 2019 MAC Commonwealth Conference Champions Wilkes University on May 8-10

The Alvernia Baseball team’s 2020 season is quickly approaching, and we could not be more excited! We have been hard at work preparing for what is sure to be a great season.

This year’s schedule is packed with challenging opponents and exciting match-ups. We open the season on the road against Chestnut Hill on February 29th. From there, we will take on conference foes Lancaster Bible, Messiah, and Elizabethtown. We also have several non-conference games scheduled against local rivals such as Albright, Lebanon Valley, and Wilson.

Alvernia Baseball’s 2020 Schedule: A Closer Look

The Alvernia University Golden Wolves Baseball Team is excited to release their 2020 schedule. The team is coming off of a historic 2019 season in which they made it all the way to the NCAA Division III World Series Head Coach Steve Zavacky is looking to lead the team to even more success in 2020. Below is a closer look at some key games on the schedule.

March 3: The season opener will be a home game against York College of Pennsylvania. This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams.

March 7-8: Alvernia will travel to Myrtle Beach South Carolina for a tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina University. They will face off against Averett University Messiah College and Wesley College This will be a great test for the team early in the season.

March 14: The Golden Wolves will play their first double header of the season at home against Lebanon Valley College They will then travel to Lebanon Valley on April 4 for a double header as well. These should be two very competitive games.

April 18: Alvernia will host Elizabethtown College for a double header. This will be the first time these two teams have played each other since 2017 when Elizabethtown won both games of a double header by scores of 9-3 and 10-2 respectively.

May 2: The Golden Wolves will close out their regular season with a home double header against Widener University These will be two crucial games as Widener is one of Alvernia’s main rivals in the Middle Atlantic Conferences (MAC).
