So how did a program that didn’t exist less than a decade ago become one of the best in the country?
It all started with a man named Johnny Ray Johnny was a former professional player and coach who had a vision for starting a baseball program at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. He knew that there was talent in the area, and he was determined to give young players an opportunity to showcase their skills.
Johnny’s hard work paid off. In 2008, Arkansas-Pine Bluff fielded its first Baseball Team The team was made up of local players who had never had an opportunity to play Collegiate Baseball before. The Golden Lions surprised everyone by winning 29 games and making it to the NCAA Tournament
Since then, Arkansas-Pine Bluff has continued to impress. The Golden Lions have won at least 28 games in four of the last five seasons, and they show no signs of slowing down. With Johnny Ray still at the helm, Arkansas-Pine Bluff is poised to continue its rise up the ranks of Collegiate Baseball programs across the country.

This year’s Arkansas-Pine Bluff baseball team is one of the best in recent memory.
