The team has won eight National Championships and been to the NCAA tournament 27 times, more than any other team in the country. Army also holds the record for the most consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament with 20 straight trips from 1986 to 2005.

The Army Hockey Team plays a challenging schedule each year that features some of the top teams in the country. The Black Knights are always looking to make a statement on the ice, and they have done just that in recent years with some big wins. Here is a look at the Army hockey schedule for the upcoming season

The Army Hockey team will open the season on October 6th with a road game against Quinnipiac. The Black Knights will then have a Home game against Mercyhurst on October 13th. Army will travel to take on Boston College on October 20th before returning home to host Niagara on October 27th.

The month of November will see Army take on some tough competition, including games against Denver, Michigan State and Notre Dame The Black Knights will also have a home game against Air Force on November 10th.

Army will close out the calendar year with games against Bentley, Holy Cross and Dartmouth. The Black Knights will then have a break for final exams and will return to action on January 5th with a game against Colgate.

The second half of the season will feature more games against stiff competition, including games against Cornell, Yale, Princeton, and Brown. Army will also host Air Force on February 9th in what is sure to be an intense rivalry game.

The team’s captain is junior forward Dustin Gazley. Gazley is the leading scorer on the team with thirty-two goals and thirty assists. He is a skilled player who has a great deal of experience leading his team to victory. The other two forwards on the top line are junior Steele Tenkku and sophomore Zach Stepan. Tenkku is an excellent two-way player who can score goals and set up his teammates. Stepan is one of the most talented forwards in college hockey He has incredible speed and puck-handling skills. He also has a great scoring touch, as he has shown by tallying twenty-three goals so far this season.

The defensive core of the team is anchored by senior captain Michael Monfredo. Monfredo is a shutdown defenseman who has been named first-team All-American twice. He is joined on the blue line by junior Kevin Johnson and sophomore Andrew Posada. Johnson is an excellent skater with good vision and passing ability. Posada is a physical defenseman who loves to hit opponents and clear the crease for his goaltender.

In goal, the Army Hockey Team has two of the best goaltenders in college hockey Senior Mike Spillane has been named first-team All-American twice and was nominated for the Hobey Baker Award this season. His partner in crime is sophomore Ryan Leetsma, who was named second-team All American as a freshman last season. Spillane and Leetsma have formed one of the best goaltending tandems in college hockey and have been key to Army’s success this season

The Army Hockey Team has been coached by some of the most successful coaches in the history of the sport. Led by current Head Coach Brian Kelly, the team has won five NCAA Division I national championships and has produced numerous NHL players and Olympians.

Under Kelly’s guidance, Army has consistently been one of the top teams in college hockey winning conference championships and making deep runs in the NCAA tournament In addition to his success at Army, Kelly has also coached at the University of Wisconsin and Boston College where he led the Eagles to a National Championship in 2010.

Notable former Army hockey coaches include Reid Cashman, who played for the U.S. Olympic team in 2006 and is currently an Assistant Coach with the NHL’s Washington Capitals and Chris Drury, who captained the U.S. Olympic team in 2010 and is now the General Manager of the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres

The Army Hockey Facilities

The Army hockey facilities are located at West Point New York, on the grounds of the United States Military Academy. The facility consists of a Hockey Rink locker rooms offices, and a weight room. The Army hockey rink is an NHL-sized rink that seats over 4,000 people. The facility also has a state-of-the-art sound system and a Jumbotron.
