The Land Baseball Team

The Ashland baseball team is set to have another amazing season. The team is set to have a strong pitching staff,returning all starting Position players and what looks to be a promising crop of new talent.

The Ashland Baseball League

The Ashland baseball league is a team sport that is played with two opposing teams of nine players each who take turns batting and fielding. The aim of the game is to score more runs than the opposing team

There are three ways to score runs in baseball:
-By Hitting the ball and running around all four bases before the fielding team can catch the ball and throw it to one of the three bases that the runner must touch before he can return to home plate A run is also scored if a fielding error is made while trying to put out a runner.
-By hitting the ball over the fence in fair territory. This is called a home run and automatically scores any runners who were on base when the hitter hit the ball
-By drawing a walk from the pitcher. A walk occurs when the pitcher throws four balls outside of the strike zone which forces the batter to take first base. If there are already runners on first and second or first, second, and third base, then those runners advance to second, third, and home, respectively, allowing the batter to reach first base safely.

The Ashland baseball fans are a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing financial support to the Ashland Baseball Team The organization was founded in response to the Community Development Block Grant program that was created in response to the Hurricane Katrina disaster. The Ashland baseball fans provide financial assistance to the team through player scholarships, ticket sales and donations.
