A&T Baseball: A Team on the Rise
The A&T Baseball Team is on the rise. The team has seen a lot of success in recent years and they are only getting better. The team is made up of talented young players and they are coached by a great staff. The team has a bright future and they are poised to make even more noise in the years to come.
A&T’s Road to the NCAA Tournament
The A&T baseball team is coming off a historic season in which they won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) regular season and tournament titles, as well as making their first appearance in the NCAA tournament in 19 years. The Aggies are looking to build on that success in 2020, and they have the talent to do so.
The team is led by preseason All-American pitcher Brandon Mitchell, who was named the 2019 MEAC Pitcher of the Year. Mitchell went 9-1 last season with a 2.84 ERA, and he will be counted on to be the ace of the staff once again in 2020.
Joining Mitchell in the rotation will be senior left-hander Jared Gleason and junior right-hander Josh D would love nothing more than to get A&T back to the NCAA Tournament and make some noise once they’re there.
A&T’s 2017 Season
The 2017 season was one to remember for the A&T baseball team The team had a historic run through the MEAC tournament, ultimately winning the title and earning a berth in the NCAA tournament The season came to an end with a loss to Florida State in the Tallahassee Regional, but the team’s accomplishments were still impressive.
The 2017 A&T Baseball Team was led by senior pitcher Nolan Mullen, who was named MEAC Pitcher of the Year. Mullen had a 9-2 record with a 2.72 ERA in 17 starts. He struck out 100 batters and walked just 32 in 103.1 innings of work. Fellow senior pitcher Tristanoints Drake also had a great season, going 8-3 with a 3.43 ERA in 15 starts. He struck out 85 batters and walked just 25 in 92.2 innings of work.
The A&T offense was also very strong in 2017, led by senior outfielder Brandon White. White hit .341 with 12 home runs and 44 RBIs en route to being named MEAC Player of the Year. Other key contributors on offense included junior infielder Andre Scrubb (.316 avg., 7 HR, 39 RBIs) and senior infielder Dustin Arendt (.301 avg., 10 HR, 41 RBIs).
The A&T Baseball team is certainly on the rise and should be poised for another run at the MEAC title in 2018.
A&T’s 2018 Season
After a disappointing end to the 2017 season, the A&T baseball team is looking to rebound in a big way in 2018. The team is fresh off a trip to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) tournament, where they fell just short of qualifying for the NCAA tournament
This year’s squad is loaded with talent, both on the mound and at the plate. The pitching staff is led by ace Tyler Johnson who was named first team All-MEAC last season. Johnson will be joined by fellow all-conference selection Ryan Davis as well as a trio of talented freshmen in Braden Phillips, Josh Lopez and Reece Astbury.
The offense will be spearheaded by senior slugger Brandon rawls, who led the team in home runs and RBIs last season. Rawls will be joined by fellow senior Troy Cowles, who is coming off a breakout campaign in which he hit .338 with 8 home runs and 37 RBIs. The lineup also features plenty of speed at the top with junior outfielder Brandon Stephens and sophomore infielder Quamaine Tomlin.
With a roster full of talented players, the A&T baseball team is poised for a successful 2018 season.
A&T’s 2019 Season
The A&T Baseball Team is coming off a historic season in which they claimed their first Mid-Eastern Athletic conference championship and made their first appearance in the NCAA tournament The Aggies are looking to build on that success in 2019, with a young but experienced squad that includes several players who will be contending for all-conference honors.
The pitching staff will be led by senior ace Austin Simmons, who was named MEAC Pitcher of the Year after posting a 8-2 record and 2.92 ERA last season. Simmons will be joined in the rotation by junior transfer Jacob Maynard, who was one of the top pitchers in Division II last year at Louisburg College. The Aggies also have a solid group of relievers, led by senior closer Brandon Wilkes, who had 11 saves last season.
The Aggies will have a strong lineup from top to bottom, with senior second baseman Davon Jackson and junior outfielder Jordon Edgerton leading the way. Jackson was named MEAC Player of the Year after hitting .372 with 10 Home Runs and 46 RBI last season, while Edgerton hit .340 with nine home runs and 38 RBI. The rest of the lineup includes several players who are capable of putting up big numbers, including junior third baseman Bryan Baker, senior first baseman Chance Shepard, and sophomore shortstop Alex Callahan.
With a deep and experienced roster, the A&T baseball team is poised for another successful season in 2019.

The A&T Baseball team is poised to have a breakout season in 2020. The team is coming off a strong 2019 campaign in which they finished with a record of 32-24 and won the Mid-Eastern Athletic conference tournament The Aggies are returning a core group of players from last year’s team, and they have added some talented newcomers to the mix. With a blend of experience and young talent, the A&T Baseball Team is poised to make some noise in the conference and beyond in 2020.
A&T’s 2021 Season
In the 2021 season, the team will try to continue its winning ways and climb even higher in the nationally rankings. The team is led by Head Coach Joel Sanchez, who is entering his fourth season at the helm. The Aggies are coming off a 37-21 (16-8 MEAC) season in 2020, which saw the team win its second consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) regular season title. The team also made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
A&T’s 2022 Season
After a disappointing 2020 season, the A&T baseball team is looking to Bounce Back in a big way in 2021. Led by head coach Johnathan Cardona, the Aggies are a young team with plenty of talent and potential.
In 2020, the team finished with a record of 13-37 overall and 5-25 in conference play However, several players on the team showed great promise, including freshman phenom Jake Simoneau. Simoneau was named the Mid-Eastern athletic conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Year after hitting .340 with seven home runs and 37 RBIs.
With Simoneau and other Key Players returning, the Aggies are primed for a breakout season in 2021. They have high hopes of contending for a MEAC title and making noise in the NCAA Tournament
A&T’s 2023 Season
In 2023, the A&T Baseball Team will be looking to build on their success from the previous year. After finishing the season with a winning record, the team made it to the semi-finals of the conference tournament The team has a solid core of returning players, as well as some new additions that should help them take the next step.
The team’s pitching staff will be led by junior ace Jason Garcia. Garcia had a breakout year in 2022, leading the team in wins, ERA, and strikeouts. He will be joined by a talented group of young pitchers that includes sophomores Ryan Miller and Jake Adams. The bullpen will be anchored by senior closer Nate Jackson, who was one of the best in the conference last year.
The Position players are also loaded with talent. The infield will be led by third baseman Joey Votto and shortstop Alex Rodriguez Both players are entering their junior years and are expected to be leaders on and off the field. The outfield will feature senior All-American Matt Holliday and junior speedster Carl Crawford. Crawford is one of the fastest players in college baseball and is a dangerous base-runner.
With a mix of veteran experience and young talent, the A&T Baseball Team is poised for another Successful Season in 2023.
A&T’s 2024 Season
The A&T Baseball team is on the rise. After a disappointing 2019 season, the team has made several key changes that have led to a more successful 2024 season. One of the most important changes has been hiring a new Head Coach Joe Smith Coach Smith has brought a new level of intensity and discipline to the team, and they have responded well to his leadership.
Another important change has been the addition of several new players to the roster. These players have brought much-needed depth and talent to the team, and they have helped the A&T reach new levels of success.
With a new Head coach and an improved roster, the A&T Baseball Team is poised for a successful 2024 season.
