The Auburn basketball staff is making some moves, as the assistant coaches have been let go. Bruce Pearl will now have to find some new staff members to help him with the team.

The Auburn Basketball staff is making some changes in player development First-year Assistant Coach Greg Brown will now focus on player development while assistant coach Charlton Young will move to a more scouting-oriented role.

Brown, who came to Auburn after spending four years as an assistant at Samford, will now be responsible for working with players on their individual skills, game film analysis and Strength and Conditioning

Young, who has been on Pearl’s staff for two seasons, will now focus on scouting opponents and recruiting.

Auburn men’s basketball strength and Conditioning Coach Damon Harrington is moving on to an undisclosed school, a source confirmed to AuburnUndercover.com on Tuesday night.

Harrington, who was in his first season at Auburn, will not be with the team when it leaves for Chicago on Wednesday morning to begin preparations for its first-round NCAA tournament matchup against Charleston.

Auburn Head Coach Bruce Pearl said he would have no comment on Harrington’s status with the team.

player personnel

The Auburn Basketball Coaching Staff is making some changes to the player personnel for next season. Bruce Pearl and his staff are looking to add depth to the team with the addition of a few new players.

The staff has recently offered scholarships to two players from the junior college ranks. Jordan Jones, a 6-foot-9 forward from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Eugene German, a 6-foot-6 guard from Palm Beach State College, have both been offered scholarships by Auburn.

Auburn is also in the mix for a few other Junior College prospects, including Jaylin Williams a 6-foot-10 center from Northwest Florida State College, and Malik Dunbar, a 6-foot-6 guard from Chipola College.

The Tigers are also recruiting a few High School prospects, including five-star point guard Collin Sexton from Pebblebrook high school in Georgia. Sexton is considered one of the top prospects in the country and would be a big get for Auburn.

Video coordinator Keenan Peery is leaving the program to take a similar position at UNLV, according to a report from Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports

Peery, who joined the Auburn staff in May of 2018, will be replaced by Jared Haase, who spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach at UAB.

Auburn Basketball is making some changes to its staff, per multiple sources. The school has hired Brandon Sosna as its Director of Player Personnel and Analytics. Sosna comes to Auburn after spending the past two seasons with NC State, where he was most recently the Wolfpack’s Director of Analytics.

Assistant coach Bryce Brown will now be responsible for scheduling, while assistant coach Ira Bowman will take over Brown’s previous responsibilities with the team’s offense.

Head coach Bruce Pearl said the changes were made in order to “better utilize the strengths of our staff.”

“Bryce has done a great job with our scheduling in the past and I’m confident he’ll do an even better job in the future,” Pearl said. “Ira is an outstanding offensive coach and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do with our offense.”

The changes come as Auburn prepares for its first season in the reorganized SEC, which will feature 10 teams in each division.

Auburn basketball’s team operations staff is on the move.

coach Bruce Pearl announced Thursday that assistant coach Chuck Person has been relieved of his duties, while assistant coach Tony Barbee and video coordinator Jordan VerHulst have been let go.

Pearl said the changes were made in an effort to “refocus our staff and program.” He added that he will begin a search for Person’s replacement immediately.
