Get to know the hardworking men behind the scenes of the Campbell University men’s basketball team From the Head Coach to the Athletic Trainer these are the guys who keep the team running like a well-oiled machine.

Chris Clemons – Head Coach

Chris Clemons a native of Raeford, North Carolina enters his first season as head coach of the Campbell University men’s Basketball team Clemons comes to CU after serving as an Assistant Coach at the University of Houston for the past two seasons.

A 1999 graduate of Hoke County High School Clemons played collegiately at Guilford College from 1999-2003, where he was a four-year starter and three-time All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference selection. He still holds the Quakers’ career records for points (2,556), assists (625) and steals (279). He was inducted into the Guilford College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.

Ryan Odom – Assistant Coach

Originally from Raleigh, N.C., Ryan Odom comes to Campbell after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Maryland his alma mater, for four seasons. Odom helped lead the Terrapins to the 2018 NCAA tournament Sweet 16 and the 2019 NCAA Tournament Second Round.

Anthony Grant – Assistant Coach

Anthony Grant enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Campbell University men’s Basketball Program in 2018-19.

Grant comes to Buies Creek after serving as Head Coach at Stetson University for the past three seasons. In his three years in DeLand, Florida, Grant led the Hatters to a 42-54 record, including a 20-12 mark and a berth in the semifinals of the Atlantic Sun conference tournament in 2016-17.

Prior to his time at Stetson, Grant served as an assistant coach at South Alabama (2012-14), Virginia Commonwealth (2009-12) and Dayton (2006-09).

Robert McCullum – Assistant Coach

McCullum enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Camel men’s Basketball Program McCullum comes to Campbell after a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Division II Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tenn.

At LMU, McCullum helped the Railsplitters to a 52-6 record, including a 27-3 mark in South Atlantic Conference play, over his two seasons. Lincoln Memorial won back-to-back SAC regular season titles and made consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.

Jai Lucas – Assistant Coach

Jai Lucas joins the Campbell men’s Basketball staff for the 2020-21 season as an Assistant Coach

Lucas comes to Buies Creek after a two-year stint as Head coach at Northwest Florida State College, where he led the Raiders to a combined 55-5 record, two conference championships and back-to-back appearances in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament

A native of Durham, North Carolina Lucas played collegiately at the University of Florida from 2007-11. He was a member of the Gators’ 2007 National Championship team and also helped Florida reach the NCAA tournament Elite Eight in 2009 and 2011.

Michael Schrage – Head Strength & Conditioning Coach

Michael Schrage enters his first season as Campbell’s head strength and Conditioning Coach in 2019-20. He comes to Buies Creek after spending the previous three seasons at High Point where he helped the Panthers to a 41-29 (.586) record and back-to-back appearances in the Big South Conference Tournament semifinals.

Tyler Lewis – Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach

Tyler Lewis enters his first season as an assistant Strength and Conditioning coach with the Campbell University Men’s Basketball Program

Prior to his time at Campbell, Lewis served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for East Carolina University. He was responsible for assisting with the creation and implementation of in-season and off-season Training Programs for all 16 sports.

Lewis is a native of Greenville, N.C., and earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from ECU in 2016.

Matt McMahon – Video Coordinator

Matt McMahon enters his second season as the Campbell men’s basketball video coordinator in 2019-20.

A native of Lexington, N.C., McMahon comes to Buies Creek after one season in a similar capacity at High Point University Prior to his time at HPU, McMahon was an assistant coach at his alma mater, Pfeiffer University for two seasons.

Andre Young – Director of Basketball Operations

Andre Young enters his tenth season with the Campbell men’s basketball program in 2019-20, serving as the Director of basketball operations

Young oversees the daily operations of the program and is heavily involved in on-campus recruiting. He has helped the Camels land three straight recruiting classes ranked in the top 100 nationally by ESPN.com, including a pair of top-70 groups.

Eric White – Graduate Assistant

Eric White is in his first season as a Graduate Assistant with the Campbell University Men’s Basketball Program Prior to arriving at Campbell, White served as an assistant coach at Barton College for one season.

A native of Goldsboro, N.C., White played four seasons of collegiate basketball at Barton College from 2010-2014. He helped the Bulldogs to four conference championships and four NCAA Division II tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2012.
