-The pitcher’s mound must be 60 feet 6 inches from home plate
-A regulation game consists of 9 innings, during which each team gets to bat once. An inning is over when 3 outs are recorded.
-Outs can be recorded in a number of ways, including striking out, catching a fly ball or forcing a runner to retreat to a previous base by throwing the ball to that base before the runner gets there.
-A run is scored when a player advances safely around all four bases and back home again.

Each team plays 162 regular season games, and the team with the best record in each division goes on to play in the postseason. There are currently four collegiate summer baseball leagues: the Cape Cod baseball league Coastal Plain League Futures Collegiate baseball league and Northwoods League Each collegiate summer baseball team plays around 50 regular season games.
