Evansville Baseball Roster

The Evansville Otters are a professional baseball team based in Evansville, Indiana. The Otters are members of the West Division of the Frontier League, an independent baseball league which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball The team plays their home games at Bosse Field, which opened in 1915 and is currently the third-oldest ballpark still in regular use for professional baseball behind Fenway Park and Wrigley Field

The Otters began play in 1995 as a charter member of the Frontier League. In 1999, they were sold to Bill Bolen and Jeff Cogen, who still own the team today. Under Boland and Cogen’s ownership, the Otters have seen tremendous success both on and off the field. On the field, the team has won two Frontier League Championships (in 2000 and 2002) and has made five playoff appearances. Off the field, the team has seen significant growth in attendance and merchandising revenue.

For the upcoming season Evansville’s roster will feature several new faces as well as some familiar ones. Some of the notable newcomers include first baseman/outfielder Alex Glenn, who was acquired via trade from the Windy City Thunderbolts; catcher Dane Phillips, who was signed as a free agent and pitcher Alex Maestri, who was signed to a minor league contract by the Chicago Cubs and subsequently assigned to Evansville. Returning players include infielder/outfielder Kyle Woodruff, who led the team in batting average (.326) and stolen bases (24) last season; pitcher Shawn Spann, who led all starters with a 3.42 ERA; closer Blake Burkett, who finished tied for second in the Frontier League with 15 saves; and outfielder Kevin Baptiste, who ranked second on the team with 12 home runs

Catchers

The Evansville Baseball Team has a strong roster of catchers for the upcoming season Led by returning starter Caleb, the team looks to have a deep bench of catchers who can contribute.

Joining Caleb on the Evansville baseball roster are catchers Kyle, Dylan, and Alex. All three players bring a wealth of experience and skill to the team, and they are all looking to make an impact this season.

Infielders

Outfielders

The Evansville Outlaws are set to have an exciting season, and fans can get to know the team by checking out the roster. Here are the outfielders who will be hitting it out of the park this year.

Bryan Anderson is a left-fielder from Louisville, Kentucky. Anderson has been with the Outlaws for two seasons and is known for his powerful batting.

Randal Grichuk is a right-fielder from Los Angeles California. Grichuk is in his first season with the Outlaws, but he’s already made a name for himself as a skilled player with a great batting average

Jake Marisnick is a center-fielder from Riverside, California. Marisnick is entering his third season with the Outlaws and is one of the team’s most experienced players. He’s known for his speed and agility on the field.

pitchers

With the start of a new baseball season comes a new Evansville Otters roster. Here is a list of the pitchers that fans can expect to see on the mound this season:

Coaching Staff

The Evansville Otters Coaching Staff consists of 10 members. Manager Chris Gaug and Pitching Coach Derrin Ebert return for their 2nd season with the team, while Hitting Coach Ryan Sorensen enters his first year with the organization. bench coach Steve Dillard, First Base Coach J.C. Hardware, Third Base Coach Brian Sharp, Bullpen Coach Eric MDaniels, Infield/Outfield Instructor Kelsey interest and HittingStrategy Coordinator Mike Schultz round out the 2019 coaching staff

The team’s name refers to the city’s history with the now-extinct species of river otter known as the northern river otter, which once inhabited the Ohio River and was hunted to extinction for its fur.

The Evansville Otters began play in 1995 as members of the Midwest League.
