When he was thirteen, his family moved to Toronto, Ontario, where he played for the Don Mills Flyers minor Hockey Team After graduating from High School Meyers was drafted by the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres in the 1993 Entry Draft

Meyers played four seasons of major Junior hockey with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), before making his professional debut with the Sabres’ AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, in 1997. He would spend parts of three seasons between Rochester and Buffalo before being traded to the Dallas Stars midway through the 1999-2000 season. Meyers would go on to play parts of two seasons with the Stars before moving on to play for HC Fribourg-Gottéron of the Swiss National League A (NLA).

Meyers returned to North America in 2002, signing as a free agent with the Boston Bruins He would spend two seasons with the Bruins before returning to Europe to play for HC Asiago of Italy’s Serie A league.
