Introducing the team

The Bearcats will look to rebound this season after a disappointing end to last year. They bring back a core of experienced players and will look to add some young talent to the mix. Here’s a look at the Binghamton basketball roster for the upcoming season

The starting lineup

Binghamton will have a young but experienced starting lineup this season. Rising junior guard Kevin Whitley will likely be the team’s leading scorer. He averaged 10.5 points per game last season and shot 39% from three-point range Senior forward Danny Apostol will provide a strong presence in the paint. He averaged 6.9 rebounds per game last season and is Binghamton’s career leader in blocks (103). Junior guard Sam Sessoms will run the point for the Bearcats this season. He was named America East Rookie of the Year last season after averaging 13.6 points and 5.0 assists per game

The Bearcats’ starting lineup will also include two sophomore forwards: Richard Caldwell Jr. and Ayodele Adepitan. Caldwell averaged 5.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game as a freshman, while Adepitan tallied 4.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest.

The bench

The bench is a term used to describe the players who do not start the game. These players come into the game when the starters need a break, are not playing well, or if the other team has players who match up better against the starters. The bench players usually play less than the starters, but they can have a big impact on the game.

The coaching staff

Binghamton’s men’s Basketball team is coached by Tommy Demarco. Coach Demarco is in his sixth season as the Bearcats Head Coach Prior to Binghamton, he served as an Assistant Coach at the University of Hartford for four seasons. Tommy is anative of Trumbull, Conn., and played his collegiate basketball at Central Connecticut State University from 2001-05.

Moses Wooden is a 6’6″ guard from Pennsylvania. He is known for his defense and hustle on the court.

FranklinSession is a 6’0″ guard from North Carolina He is known for his quickness and steals on defense.
