The History of Cathedral Basketball
The Cathedral of Notre Dame has a long and storied tradition in basketball. The school’s first basketball team was formed in 1897, and the team has been a powerhouse ever since. In the early years, Cathedral dominated the Catholic League winning titles in 1916, 1917, 1918, 1919, 1920, 1921, 1922, 1923, 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927, and 1928. The team also won the National Championship in 1927.
In recent years Cathedral has continued to be one of the top teams in the country. The team won the National Championship in 2001 and has been a regular fixture in the NCAA tournament Cathedral is currently ranked #1 in the country and is looking to make a run at another national title. The Cathedral Basketball Program
The Cathedral Basketball Program is one of the most successful in the state of Indiana. The team has won four State Championships and has been to the Elite Eight six times. The program is also one of the most consistently successful in the nation, appearing in the top 25 of the USA Today poll more than any other team in Indiana.

The Cathedral Basketball Roster
The 2017-2018 season marks another year of electric basketball at Cathedral high school
Entering his 20th season, Head Coach Matt696 has solidified himself as one of the winningest coaches in school history. His teams have appeared in the State Tournament 11 times, including 5 trips to the Final Four.
This year’s squad is led by returning starters senior Max Kristoff and junior Ryan Saunders. Kristoff, a 6’8” center, is a four-year starter who has been a force in the post for the Crusaders. Saunders, a 6’4” guard, is a three-year starter and is one of the best pure shooters in the state. Both Kristoff and Saunders have committed to playing Division I Basketball next year; Kristoff will attend Indiana University while Saunders will attending Marquette University
Joining Kristoff and Saunders in the starting lineup are junior point guard Michael Jordan and sophomore shooting guard Kobe Bryant Jordan, a 5’10” guard, is quick and shifty with the ball and is exceptional at getting his teammates involved in the offense. Bryant, a 6’6” guard, is an explosive athlete who can score from anywhere on the court. He will be counted on to provide a spark off the bench for the Crusaders this season.
The Cathedral Crusaders are once again poised for deep run in the State Tournament this year. Led by their experienced core of veterans, this team has all the ingredients necessary for a championship run. Be sure to catch them in action this winter!

The Cathedral basketball game is one of the most popular games in the city. Every year, people from all over come to see the game. The game is held at the Cathedral, which is a beautiful building. The game is played between two teams, and each team has its own color. The team that scores the most points in the end wins the game.

The Cathedral Basketball season is in Full Swing and there is no better time to catch a game! The team is currently ranked #1 in the state and #3 in the nation, so you know they are going to give you a good show.

The Cathedral Basketball Tournament is an annual event that takes place in the early spring. It is a must-see event for basketball fans as some of the best high school teams in the country compete for the championship.

The tournament features 32 teams from around the country, all vying for the chance to be crowned National Champions The games will be played at a neutral site, so there’s no home-court advantage to be had.
This year’s tournament is sure to be one of the most exciting in recent memory. Be sure to catch all the action, starting with the first round on March 17th.
