The Colgate basketball team is gearing up for another exciting season. Get to know the players on this year’s roster with our quick introduction.
Colgate basketball roster Meet the Team
The Colgate Raiders men’s Basketball team is set to begin their 2019-2020 Season and we could not be more excited! The team has been working hard in the off-season and we cannot wait to see what they will achieve this season.
Head coach Matt Langel returns for his sixth season at the helm of the Raiders. He will be joined by assistant coaches Dwayne Dunstan and Tyler Stemen. The team will also have a new addition this season, with transfer student Jordan Burns joining the squad.
The Raiders will be looking to improve upon their 2018-2019 campaign, in which they finished with a record of 15-16 overall and 8-10 in conference play They will open their season on November 5th at home against Binghamton University.

The Colgate basketball team is composed of some of the nation’s most talented up-and-coming players. Get to know the team with this roster guide.
Players to watch:
– Guard Jordan Burns is the team’s leading scorer, averaging 17 points per game He’s a dynamic playmaker who can shoot from anywhere on the court.
– Forward Will Rayman is a versatile player who can score inside and out. He’s averaging 16 points and eight rebounds per game
– Center Rapolas Ivanauskas is a big presence in the paint, averaging 15 points and seven rebounds per game
Colgate Basketball Roster Newcomers
The Colgate Basketball team has several new members this season. Here’s a look at the newcomers and what they bring to the team:
Ethan Scott is a 6’5″ guard from Los Angeles California. He’s a versatile player who can shoot from long range and drive to the basket.
Jaylen Franklin is a 6’7″ forward from Seattle, Washington. He’s a strong, athletic player who can help with rebounding and defense.
Will Murphy is a 6’8″ forward from Portland, Maine. He’s a skilled inside player who can score in the post and block shots
Colgate Basketball Roster Key returners
The 2019-2020 season was cut short due to the pandemic, but we’re excited for what’s in store for the 2020-2021 Season Let’s meet the team!
Sophomore guard/forward Jordan Burns is one of the key returners for the Colgate Raiders. Last season, Burns averaged 11 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game She was named to the Patriot League All-Rookie Team and was a key player in Colgate’s run to the Patriot League Championship game
Junior guard Shoni Sinclair is another key returner for Colgate. Sinclair averaged 9.5 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists per game last season. She is a versatile player who can play both guard positions and is a valuable asset on both ends of the court.
Senior guard Abby Morton rounds out the trio of key returners for Colgate. Morton averaged 8 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists per game last season. She is a veteran leader who will be looked to provide steady leadership for the Raiders this season.

When it comes to Colgate Men’s Basketball, there is no bigger story than the starting five. The starting five for Colgate this season features a blend of experience and youth, with three upperclassmen and two first-years.
The leaders of this year’s team are seniors Rapolas Ivanauskas and Will Rayman. Both players were Second Team All-Patriot League last season, and they will be looking to build on that success in their final year with the Raiders. They will be joined in the frontcourt by junior Tucker Haymond, who has started 31 games over his first two seasons at Colgate.
The backcourt will be anchored by two first-years, Jordan Burns and Nelly Cummings. Both players had successful High School careers, with Burns being named a First Team All-State player in Illinois and Cummings being named Mr. Basketball in Indiana. They will be looked to as the playmakers on this year’s team, and they should have no problem adjusting to the college game.
This starting five has the potential to be one of the best in Colgate Men’s Basketball History and they will be looking to make a run at the Patriot League title this season.
Colgate Basketball Roster The bench
The Colgate basketball team has a long and successful history. The team is currently made up of 12 players, including 2 guards, 5 forwards, and 5 centers. With such a deep bench, the team is able to rotate players in and out of the game, keeping everyone fresh and allowing for different combinations of players on the court.
Colgate Basketball Roster: The coaches
The Colgate Coaching Staff is one of the most experienced and respected in the country. The Raiders are led by Head Coach Matt Langel, who is in his 11th season at the helm of the program. He is joined by Associate head coach Mark Van Vliet and Assistant coaches Jean Bain and Jordan Burns. Langel has a career record of 235-144 (.620), including a 162-108 (.601) mark at Colgate, which is the winningest coaching tenure in school history. He has guided the Raiders to seven Patriot League regular season titles, four Patriot League Tournament championships and four berths in the NCAA tournament

The 2017-2018 Colgate Raiders Basketball Schedule is here! The team will tip off the season on Friday, November 10th at 7:00pm EST against Niagara. The game will be played at Cotterell Court in Hamilton, NY and will be broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
This year’s team is looking to build on last year’s success. The Raiders finished the 2016-2017 season with a record of 24-10 (13-5 in conference play). They won the Patriot League regular season title and made it to the semifinals of the conference tournament
This year’s roster is loaded with talent. Leading the way is senior guard Jordan Burns. Burns was named to the All-Patriot League first team last season after averaging 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. He will be looked to as the leader of this team as they try to make a run at a conference title once again.
Strength and Conditioning Coach Simon Payne has been working with the team all offseason to get them ready for the rigors of a long season. “We’re really excited about this group,” said Payne. “They’ve worked hard all offseason and we think they have a chance to be really successful.”
