Fan Profile

In order to qualify for the West Coast Conference Tournament the Corban Baseball Team (9-9, 3-3 WCC) needs to either finish in the top four of the Conference Standings or win the conference tournament As it stands right now, the team is currently in fifth place and two games back of fourth-place Pepperdine. With nine conference games remaining, all of which are against conference foes, it’s safe to say that the team’s postseason fate is still very much up in the air.

Despite their lackluster record, the team has shown some flashes of brilliance this season. Infielder Cole Cummings has been a force at the plate, leading the team with a .333 batting average four home runs and 19 RBIs. On the mound, ace pitcher Kody Gnat has been nothing short of dominant, posting a 5-1 record and a 1.93 ERA in eight starts.

Of course, there have been some low points as well. The team has struggled to score runs at times and has had trouble stringing together consecutive wins. They will need to correct these shortcomings if they want to have any shot at making noise in the postseason.

Whether they make it to the postseason or not, this season has been an overall positive step forward for the Corban baseball program With a young core of talented players leading the way, there is no reason to think that this team won’t be contending for a conference championship in the near future.
