The History of Davidson Davie Community College Basketball
Davidson Davie Community college basketball first started in the fall of 2006. The team was led by Coach Tony Martin, who had just come off of a successful season coaching the men’s team at Appalachian State University The team played its first game against Catawba Valley Community College and won by a score of 74-60.
The Davidson Davie Community College basketball team went on to have a very successful 2006-2007 season, finishing with a record of 22-8 overall and 15-3 in conference play The team qualified for the State Tournament where they ultimately lost in the first round to Hills Community College
In the 2007-2008 season, the Davidson Davie Community College Basketball team once again qualified for the State Tournament and this time made it all the way to the semi-finals before losing to Wake Technical Community College The team finished the season with a record of 21-9 overall and 16-4 in conference play
The 2008-2009 season was another successful one for Davidson Davie Community college basketball as the team finished with a record of 24-7 overall and 17-5 in conference play. The team once again made it to the state tournament but this time lost in the quarterfinals to Guilford Technical Community College
The 2009-2010 season was yet another successful one for Davidson Davie Community College Basketball as the team finished with a record of 25-6 overall and 16-4 in conference play. The team made it back to the state tournament but once again lost in the quarterfinals, this time to Cape Fear Community College
The Davidson Davie Community College Basketball Program
Davidson Community College is a public two-year Community College located in Davidson, North Carolina The college offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in over 50 programs of study. In addition to its academic offerings, the college is home to the Davidson Davie Community college basketball Program.
The Davidson Davie Community college basketball Program is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and competes in Region X of the NJCAA. The program has been in existence since the college’s founding in 1963, and has seen success at both the conference and national levels.
To date, the program has produced six conference championships and four National Tournament appearances. Most recently, the team won the conference championship in 2019 and made an appearance in the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament
