April 5-7: vs. #3 Florida State

The Tritons will take on the Seminoles in a three-game series at home. Florida State is one of the top teams in the nation, and this will be a good test for Eckerd.

April 12-14: at #5 UNC Wilmington

Eckerd will hit the road to take on UNC Wilmington in a three-game series. The Seahawks are one of the best teams in the country, and this will be a tough road test for the Tritons.

April 19-21: vs. Stetson

The Tritons will return home for a three-game series against Stetson. The Hatters are always a tough opponent, and this will be a good test for Eckerd.

The Eckerd College Tritons baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States The team is a member of the Sunshine State Conference which is part of the NCAA Division II. Eckerd’s first baseball team was fielded in 1963. The team plays its home games at Triton Field on the college’s campus. Al Brewster has been the team’s Head Coach since 2007.

Team Leaders

Eckerd college baseball looks to build on last year’s success with a new crop of leaders. head coach Jack Mullen enters his sixth season at the helm of the Tritons, and he’ll look to seniors like first baseman/outfielder J.D. Osbourne and catcher Brandon Sizemore to provide leadership. Osborne, who was named second team All-Sunshine State Conference last season, is the team’s top Returning hitter after batting .340 with four home runs and 27 RBIs in 2017. Sizemore is the squad’s top Returning catcher after hitting .286 with two homers and 15 RBIs a year ago. They’ll be joined by junior pitcher Will Gorman, who returns after missing all of last season due to injury. Gorman was named honorable mention All-SSC in 2016 after going 6-3 with a 3.86 ERA in 13 starts.

Eckerd College (8-6, 0-0 SSC) returns home from a five-game road trip to begin Sunshine State conference play when it hosts Florida Tech (9-5, 0-0 SSC) for a three-game series at TurleyFamily Stadium. First pitch for game one on Friday is set for 6 p.m. The Tritons then play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. and will conclude the series with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
