The ETSU men’s basketball team picked up its fifth straight win with a 92-64 victory over VMI on Saturday afternoon inside Freedom Hall.

The Etsu men’s Basketball team won their fourth straight game92-64, defeating the VMI Keydets on Saturday afternoon inside Freedom Hall. With the win, the Bucs improved to 10-4 overall and 2-0 in Southern conference play VMI dropped to 4-10 on the season and 0-2 in the SoCon.

Etsu used a strong defensive effort, combined with some hot shooting, to pull away from VMI in the second half. The Bucs limited the Keydets to just 33 percent shooting for the game, while forcing 20 turnovers. Etsu also held a significant advantage on the glass, outrebounding VMI by a 46-30 margin.

On the offensive end, the Bucs shot 50 percent from the field and 41 percent from three-point range Five different players scored in double figures for Etsu, led by Bo Hodges (Nashville, Tenn.) with 18 points. Hodges was joined in double figures by Tray Boyd III (Memphis, Tenn.), Jeromy Rodriguez (Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic), Isaac Banks (New Orleans, La.) and Daivien Williamson (Winston-Salem, N.C.), who all scored 12 points apiece.

Boyd III also pulled down a game-high eight rebounds for the Bucs.

Etsu will return to action on Tuesday night when they travel to Western Carolina for a 7 p.m. tip inside Rams Gymnasium in Cullowhee, N.C.

The ETSU men’s Basketball team improved to 3-0 on the young season with a 92-64 victory over Virginia Military Institute on Tuesday night inside Freedom Hall.

The Bucs were once again led by senior guard Desonta Bradford (Humboldt, Tenn.), who scored a game-high 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. He also had three rebounds and two steals in 30 minutes of action.

Sophomore guard Isaiah Tisdale (Lexington, Ky.) was the only other Buccaneer in double figures as he tallied 12 points, to go along with four assists. Tisdale has now reached double figures in all three games this season.

Etsu was led by senior guard Desonta Bradford, who scored 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting. Joining Bradford in double figures were juniors Jermirco Baylor (15 points) and David Burrell (14 points).
