-Third base will be anchored by Timmy Chang, who was signed as a free agent after spending last season in Taiwan. He’s known for his defense but he can also hit for power and should provide some good production at the plate.
-Shortstop will be handled by Jose Reyes, who was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers He’s an experienced major leaguer who is looking to revitalize his career after missing most of last season due to injury

The Farm System
The Farm System
The Minor League system of professional baseball in the United States is organized into six levels. The lowest level, short-season A-ball, generally comprises players who are just beginning their careers in Professional Baseball or who are considered to be raw prospects, fresh out of high school or college. The next level up, full-season A-ball, generally features players with more experience and who are further along in their development. From there, the levels go from Low-A to High-A to Double-A to Triple-A.
The Minor League system provides an opportunity for players to develop their skills in game situations against increasingly tougher competition, while also giving them a chance to prove themselves worthy of being called up to the Major Leagues For many years, most Major League teams had their own farm systems, with each team operating a number of Minor League affiliates at various levels. However, beginning in the late 1990s and early 2000s, many teams began to cut back on the number of affiliates they operated, and some even sold off their entire farm systems. As a result, there are now only a handful of Major League Baseball teams that operate their own farm systems from start to finish; most teams have had to rely on other organizations, such as independent leagues or foreign countries, to provide talent for their Minor League affiliates.
The History
flood City Baseball is a Baseball team located in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. The team was formed in 2013, when the Johnstown Jets, a local semi-professional team, ceased operations. The new team took the name of the Jets, as well as their colors of green and white, in an effort to maintain a connection to the city’s history.
The flood City Baseball plays its home games at historic Point stadium, which was built in 1926 and is located on the banks of the Conemaugh River. The stadium was once home to the Minor League Johnstown Red Sox as well as the semi-pro Johnstown Jets. It is currently undergoing renovations to bring it up to modern standards.
The flood city baseball team is a part of the Mountain Division of the Pennsylvania State League. The team has yet to win a championship, but they have made it to the playoffs several times.
The Future
The Pennsylvania city of Johnstown has been through a lot in the last few years. First, there was the major flood of 2018, which seriously damaged much of the city. Then, just a few months later, the local baseball team the Johnstown J-Cats, announced that they were moving to another city. This left Johnstown without a Baseball Team for the first time in over 50 years.
But now, there is some good news for sports fans in Johnstown. A new baseball team the Flood City Baseball Club has been founded and will begin play in 2019. The team will be a member of the newly-formed United Shore League, which is not affiliated with any major league baseball organization.
The Flood City Baseball Club will play its home games at Point Stadium, which is located on spit of land near where the Stonycreek and Conemaugh Rivers meet. The stadium was originally built in 1926 and has a capacity of around 5,000 people. It underwent a major renovation in 2015 and is now one of the best minor league ballparks in Pennsylvania.
The Johnstown area has a long history of minor league baseball dating back to 1884 when the first professional Team in Town the Alleghenys (now known as the Pittsburgh Pirates), played their Home Games there. Over the years, Johnstown has been home to many different Minor League teams, including most recently the J-Cats from 2013 to 2018.
The founding of the Flood City Baseball Club is just one more example of how Johnstown is bouncing back from adversity and showing that it is a Great Place to live and work.
