Wagner is a native of Jacksonville, Florida and played college baseball himself at Mississippi State from 1996-1999. After his four years in Mississippi, Wagner made the move to Gainesville to join head coach Kevin O’Sullivan’s staff.

Bush was born in Montclair, New Jersey, and grew up in nearby Wayne. He is the youngest of three children born to Dorothy Bush Koch, the sister of George H. W. The Florida baseball program has seen a recent surge in success and the Head coach Kevin O’Sullivan, is being recognized as one of the best in the country.

In the past five years, the Gators have won three SEC championships and made it to the College World Series four times. In 2017, they were runners-up, losing to Louisiana State University in the final game

Pitching staff

At first base, junior Keenan Bell is the leading contender to replace Schwarz. Bell hit .313 with four home runs and 20 RBI last season while playing mostly as a designated hitter or pinch hitter. At second base, senior Ryan Larson is expected to take over for Marrero. Larson hit .261 with one home run and 10 RBI last year while playing mostly at third base or shortstop.

The Gators also have some depth at third base with junior Jonathan India and sophomore Austin Langworthy competing for playing time India is coming off a strong sophomore season in which he hit .274 with seven home runs and 41 RBI while seeing time at both third base and shortstop. In June of 2016, O’Sullivan was hired as the Head Coach of the University of Florida In his three seasons with the Gators, he has won two SEC championships and led the team to the College World Series in 2017 and 2018.
