The History
Floyd Central high school is a public High School in Floyds Knobs, Indiana. The school is part of the Greater Clark County Schools district. It has an enrollment of approximately 1,300 students in grades 9-12. The school’s basketball team has won two state championships in 2013 and 2015.
The Championships
In 2014, the Floyd Central high school boy’s basketball team had an incredible season. They won the State Championships and had an amazing record of 27-1. The team was coached by Mark Combs, who was named Coach of the Year. The team’s success was due to the incredible skill of the players, as well as their dedication to the game. Every member of the team contributed to their success, and it was a truly collaborative effort.
The Coaches
Floyd Central High School has a rich tradition of success in boys’ basketball. The program has produced several players who have gone on to successful collegiate and professional careers. The current Head Coach is Brad Byrd, who has been at the helm since 2011. Prior to taking over as head coach Byrd was an Assistant Coach for the program for eight seasons. In his ten seasons as Head Coach Byrd’s teams have compiled a 246-111 record and made nine trips to the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) State Tournament including two trips to the Elite Eight.

Floyd Central High School has a long and storied history in basketball. The program has won numerous conference and State Championships and produced some of the best players in the country. Today, the school remains one of the top programs in the state, and is a perennial contender for the title.
