The history of Golden West baseball

Golden West Baseball has a rich history dating back to the late 1800s. The first recorded game took place in 1887, between the Golden West Athletic Club and the San Francisco Olympic Club. Golden West went on to win the game, 12-5.

During the early years of Golden West Baseball the team was affiliated with various professional clubs, including the San Francisco Giants Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Seals In 1904, Golden West became a charter member of the Pacific Coast League

Throughout its history, Golden West baseball has been home to many Great players and teams. Some of the most famous players to don a Golden West uniform include Babe Ruth Ty Cobb, Willie Mays and Sandy Koufax In addition,Golden West has won 11 PCL championships and three World Championships (1915, 1922 and 1923).

Today, Golden West baseball continues to be a vibrant part of the community. The team plays its home games at historic Jack London Stadium, which is located in the heart of downtown Oakland.

The tournament schedule is as follows:

-The Beginner’s Tournament is for players aged 5-8 who have never played in a tournament before.
-The Rookie Tournament is for players aged 9-12 who have some tournament experience.
-The All-Star Tournament is for players aged 13-16 who have significant tournament experience.
-The World Series Tournament is for our most experienced players, aged 17 and up.

Each team that comes to our park is guaranteed to play at least three games, and the winners of each tournament will receive a trophy. So come on down and join in the fun!
