The GSC baseball season is in Full Swing and there are a lot of close games being played. With that said, here is a look at what the teams need to do to stay on top of their division.

In the East, it is still anyone’s division as all four teams are within two games of each other. Georgia Southern currently sits in first place, but they have dropped four of their last six games. They will need to pick up the pace if they want to hold onto first place. Florida State is right behind them and they have won five out of their last six games. They are currently on a three-game Winning Streak Clemson is also right in the mix, as they are just one game back of first place. They have won four out of their last six games as well. The final team in the division is Louisville, who is two games back of first place. They have won five out of their last seven games.

In the West,Alabamais currently in first place and they have been playing well as of late. They have won eight out of their last ten games and they are currently on a five-game winning streak LSU is right behind them and they are just one game back of first place. They have won seven out of their last ten games and they are currently on a three-game winning streak. Arkansas is also in the mix, as they are just two games back of first place. They have won six out of their last ten games and they are currently on a two-game winning streak. The final team in the division is Ole Miss who is three games back of first place. They have won five out of their last ten games and they are currently on a two-game losing streak

Who’s hot and who’s not in the GSC

The Green and White Standings are a compilation of the best teams in the Green and White Conference. The conference is made up of six schools: Alcorn State Arkansas-Pine Bluff Grambling State Jackson State Mississippi Valley State and Southern.

As of right now, Alcorn State is in first place with a record of (10-3), followed by Arkansas-Pine Bluff (9-4), Grambling State (8-5), Jackson State (7-6), Mississippi Valley State (6-7), and Southern (5-8).

Alcorn State has been on a roll as of late, winning their last five games in a row. They are currently riding a nine-game winning streak dating back to April 8th. during that streak, they have outscored their opponents 80-37.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff has also been playing well as of late, winning eight of their last ten games. During that span, they have scored 10 or more runs three times.

Grambling State has been up and down lately, alternating wins and losses in their last six games. However, they did just win two out of three against Jackson State

Jackson State has lost four out of their last five games and five out of their last seven. They will look to turn things around when they take on Southern this weekend.

Mississippi Valley State has lost four out of their last five games and seven out of their last ten. They will also be taking on Southern this weekend.

Southern has lost five out of their last six games and seven out of their last ten. As mentioned before, they will be taking on Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State this weekend in a key conference series.

The teams that are on the rise in the GSC

The Gulf South Conference is a NCAA Division II conference that sponsors 12 sports. This article will focus on the teams that are on the rise in the conference.

The teams that are currently on the rise in the Gulf South Conference are Valdosta State West Florida and Alabama Huntsville

Valdosta State is currently ranked #8 in the nation for Division II baseball and has a 31-11 record. West Florida is ranked #19 in the nation and has a 30-12 record. Alabama Huntsville is ranked #24 in the nation and has a 28-15 record.

All three of these teams have been on the rise in recent years with Valdosta State and West Florida both making it to the Division II College World Series in 2019. Alabama Huntsville has also been on the rise, winning the Gulf South conference tournament title in 2019.

1. Kennesaw State
The Owls have been one of the biggest surprise teams in the conference, sitting at 4th in the standings with a 15-11 record. They’ve been particularly strong at home, going 11-4 at Stillwell Stadium. If they can keep up their strong play, they could make a push for one of the top two spots in the conference.

2. UNC Charlotte
The 49ers are currently in 6th place with a 13-13 record, but they’ve shown they can compete with anyone in the conference. They’ve taken series from both Florida Gulf Coast and Liberty, two of the top teams in the conference. If they can string together some more nt play they could climb their way up the standings.

3. Stetson
The Hatters are currently in 7th place with a 12-14 record, but they’re just two games out of 4th place. They’ve shown they can compete with anyone in the conference, taking series from both Florida Gulf Coast and Liberty. If they can string together some more consistent play, they could climb their way up the standings and into contention for one of the top four spots.
