Szefc came to GWU in 2013, inheriting a team that had gone 9-41 the previous season and had not had a winning season since 2008. But he quickly turned things around, leading the team to a 27-23 record in his first season.
Since then, the team has only gotten better, culminating in a 39-19 record and an appearance in the NCAA tournament last season.
