5-star center Moses Brown commits to Houston

Moses Brown, a five-star center from Queens, NY, has committed to Houston. Brown is the No. 4 player in the ESPN 100 and the No. 1 center in the class of 2018.

Brown chose Houston over offers from UCLA, Kansas, and Indiana. He took an official visit to Houston last month and was blown away by the school’s facilities and the Coaching Staff

“I just felt at home there,” Brown told ESPN. “I felt like it was somewhere I could really excel both academically and athletically.”

Brown is a big coup for Houston Head Coach Kelvin Sampson who has been recruiting him hard since he took over the program in 2014. With Brown on board, Houston now has the No. 1 recruiting class in the AAC for 2018.

4-star point guard Quentin Grimes de-commits from Houston

In a turn of events, 4-star point guard Quentin Grimes has de-committed from Houston. All signs had been pointing to Grimes attending Houston, but it appears that he has had a change of heart. He is now being recruited by Kansas, Duke, and Kentucky.

3-star Power Forward Fabian White Jr. commits to Houston

Late Tuesday night, Houston secured a big commitment from 3-star power forward Fabian White Jr., who provides a needed scoring boost to the Cougars frontcourt.

White, who is 6-foot-7 and 210 pounds, is ranked as the No. 161 player in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 41 power forward in the nation. He chose Houston over offers from Baylor, Texas A&M, LSU, Marquette and others.

JUCO transfer Chris Harris Jr. commits to Houston

Houston got a big commitment today from JUCO transfer Chris Harris Jr. The 6’5” guard from San Jacinto College had offers from several Power 5 schools, but he decided to commit to Houston.

Harris is a big guard that can really score the ball. He averaged 22.1 points per game last season while shooting 46% from the field and 41% from three-point range He’s also a good rebounder, averaging 7.3 rebounds per game

Harris is originally from Dallas, so he’s familiar with the city of Houston. He should be a good fit in Kelvin Sampson’s system and he should be able to contribute right away.

Houston lands 4-star small forward Corey Davis Jr.

The Houston basketball team has landed a big commitment in the form of 4-star small forward Corey Davis Jr.

The 6-foot-6, 180-pound Davis is rated as the No. 48 player in the nation and the No. 10 small forward according to 247Sports Composite Rankings

Davis committed to Houston over offers from Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, and others.

“I just felt like it was the best place for me,” Davis said. “I fit in well with the players and the coaching staff

Houston now has the No. 1 Recruiting Class in the American Athletic Conference and the No. 24 class in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite rankings

5-star shooting guard Romeo Langford commits to Indiana

The top-rated unsigned senior in the country, 5-star shooting guard Romeo Langford, has committed to Indiana.

Langford, who is from New Albany, Indiana, is rated the No. 6 overall player in the 2018 recruiting class by 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is also ranked as the No. 2 shooting guard and the No. 1 player in the state of Indiana.

Langford chose Indiana over offers from Kansas, Vanderbilt and UCLA. He took official visits to all four schools before making his decision.

Langford is the first 5-star recruit to commit to Indiana since Cody Zeller in 2010.

Houston in the mix for 5-star power forward Zion Williamson

Houston is in the mix for one of the top prospects in the country, Zion Williamson The five-star power forward is considering the Cougars, along with Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, and UNC.

Williamson is ranked as the No. 2 player in the country by 247Sports Composite, and is the No. 1 power forward. He’s a 6-foot-7, 285-pounder from Spartanburg, S.C.

Duke is considered the favorite to land Williamson, but Houston has a good chance as well. The Cougars have been recruiting him hard and have made him a priority.

247Sports national analyst Jerry Meyers said this about Williamson:

“He’s an unbelievable athlete … He’s got a chance to be a very special player.”

4-star center David McCormack commits to Kansas

4-star center David McCormack has committed to Kansas, giving the Jayhawks a big boost in their frontcourt for next season.

McCormack is a 6’10”, 250-pound center from Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. He is rated as the No. 36 player in the country by ESPN and the No. 8 center.

McCormack chose Kansas over Duke, Virginia, and Xavier. He joins a Jayhawks recruiting class that already includes 5-star point guard Devon Dotson and 4-star wing Quentin Grimes.

Houston among final schools for 5-star PG Immanuel Quickley

The Houston Cougars are among the final schools for 5-star point guard Immanuel Quickley, according to multiple reports.

Quickley, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound guard from John Carroll School in Bel Air Maryland, is ranked as the No. 2 point guard and the No. 11 overall player in the Class of 2018 by 247Sports Composite.

He is also ranked as the No. 2 point guard and the No. 12 overall player in the Class of 2018 by ESPN.

Quickley has taken official visits to Kentucky, Maryland, Miami, and Oklahoma State and he is scheduled to take an official visit to Houston this weekend. He has also taken unofficial visits to Duke and North Carolina

The 5-star point guard is expected to make his decision sometime this month.

5-star center James Wiseman includes Houston in top 7

Five-star center James Wiseman, the No. 1 player in the 2019 class according to the 247Sports Composite, announced his top seven schools on Tuesday night and Houston made the cut.

Wiseman, who is from Memphis, is also considering Kentucky, Kansas, Florida State Vanderbilt and Ohio State He is scheduled to make his college decision on November 20.

The 7-footer is the highest rated recruit that Houston has ever landed and he would immediately give the Cougars a boost in the paint. Wiseman averaged 25 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks per game as a junior at Memphis East high school
