Oak Hill Academy is a historic boys’ Basketball Program that has sent countless players to the NBA. In this article, we will take a look at some of the most recent news regarding Oak Hill alumni.

In November, it was announced that D’Angelo Russell had been traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves Russell began his career at Oak Hill, where he was named a McDonald’s All-American. He went on to play one season at Ohio State before being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft

Russell spent two and a half seasons with the Lakers before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets in 2017. He flourished with the Nets, averaging 21 points and 7 assists per game However, he was dealt to Minnesota in 2019 as part of a package for All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns

It was also recently announced that Chris Paul would be joining Russell in Minnesota. Paul began his career at Oak Hill, where he won a National Championship in 2003. He then went on to play two seasons at Wake Forest before being drafted by the New Orleans Hornets with the fourth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft

Paul spent six and a half seasons with the Hornets before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2011. He helped lead the Clippers to six consecutive playoff appearances, but they were never able to make it past the Western Conference Finals. Paul was then traded to Houston in 2017, where he teamed up with James Harden to form one of the most potent backcourts in NBA history The duo helped lead Houston to an appearance in the 2018 Western Conference Finals, but they were once again unable to get over the hump and lost in seven games to eventual champion Golden State

After two seasons with Houston, Paul was traded to Oklahoma City last offseason as part of a blockbuster deal that also sent Russell Westbrook to Houston. However, Paul struggled in his first season with the Thunder and was ultimately dealt toPhoenixat this year’s trade deadline as part of a four-team trade that saw him reunited with Harden once again.
