Iona Baseball Releases Their 2019 Schedule

The Iona baseball team has released their 2019 schedule, and it looks like they’re in for a tough season. With games against some of the top teams in the country, the Gaels will have their work cut out for them. But with a strong roster and a lot of heart, they’ll be looking to make some noise in the NCAA tournament

Iona Baseball Releases Their 2019 Schedule

The Iona college baseball team has announced their 2019 schedule, which features 27 home games and a trip to Myrtle Beach for a tournament.

The Gaels will open their season on February 22 with a three-game series at home against Rider. The following week, they will travel to South Carolina to play in the Coastal Carolina Tournament. They will play five games over the course of the tournament, with opponents yet to be determined.

Iona’s first MAAC conference series will be at home against Monmouth from March 8-10. They will also host conference series against Siena (March 29-31), Quinnipiac (April 12-14), Manhattan (April 26-28), and Marist (May 10-12). The Gaels will conclude their regular season on the road with a three-game series against Fairfield from May 17-19.

The 2019 MAAC Baseball Championship will be held from May 23-26 at McAuliffe Park in Staten Island New York.

The Iona Gaels baseball team has announced their 2019 schedule. The team will begin their season on February 22nd with a three-game series against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights The Gaels will play a total of 56 games this season, 27 of which will be at home in New Rochelle, New York.

The team’s Conference Schedule includes games against opponent such as the Saint Peter’s Peacocks, the Monmouth Hawks the Manhattan Jaspers and the Fairfield Stags The Gaels will also face non-conference opponent such as the University of Hartford Hawks the Hofstra Pride and the Bryant Bulldogs

Some notable games on the schedule include a four-game series against Wagner from March 15-17 and a three-game set against Penn State from April 5-7.

The Gaels will open their season on the road against the UC Irvine Anteaters on February 15th and will play their home opener against the UMass Lowell River Hawks on March 8th. Other notable games include a three-game series against defending MAAC champions Quinnipiac and a four-game set against perennial conference powerhouse Fairfield. The Gaels will face off against Quinnipiac at home from April 12-14 and will travel to face Fairfield from April 19-21.

The Gaels are coming off a 2018 season in which they went 29-27 overall and 14-8 in conference play They will look to build on that success in 2019 with a challenging schedule that includes games against 2017 College World Series participant Oregon State as well as Tournament Teams from last season such as Coastal Carolina Wake Forest and Campbell.

The season will begin on February 22nd when Iona travels to Clearwater, Florida to take on the University of South Florida They will spend their spring break in Myrtle Beach South Carolina where they will take on Appalachian State Norfolk State and Rider.

The Gaels will open MAAC play at home on March 29th against Niagara. Their conference schedule features three games against Monmouth, Siena, and Manhattan. Iona will close out their Regular Season at home against Quinnipiac on May 17th-19th.
