The NBA Draft Process

The National Basketball Association (NBA) draft is an annual event in which the NBA teams select new players for their rosters. The draft order is determined by the previous season’s standings, with the team that had the Worst Record picking first and the team that had the best record picking last.

In recent years the draft process has become more complicated, with players now having the option to declare “early”, meaning they are eligible to be drafted out of high school If a player declares early and is not drafted, they may choose to attend college for one year and then re-enter the draft the following year.

The NBA Draft is typically held in June, after the conclusion of the NBA Finals
