IU East Baseball Team
The IU Southeast Baseball Team is gearing up for the conference tournament which begins on Wednesday, May 22. The Grenadiers are the fourth seed in the eight-team tournament and will take on top-seeded Midway in the first round.
IU Southeast is coming off a regular season in which it finished 19-22 overall and 13-11 in conference play The team will be looking to make a run in the tournament and hopefully qualify for the NCAA Division II National Tournament
The Grenadiers are led by senior outfielder Blake Gailis, who was named first-team all-conference earlier this week. Gailis is batting .377 with four home runs and 31 RBIs on the season. Other Key Players for IU Southeast include junior infielder Austin Richert (.358 batting average four homers, 34 RBIs) and senior pitcher Tanner Craig (5-5, 3.86 ERA).
The first round of the Conference Tournament will be a best-of-three series, with games taking place on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (if necessary). The Grenadiers will be looking to win their first conference tournament title since 2016.
Conference Tournament

The Team

Wheeler is batting .345 with eight home runs and 33 RBIs, while Ashley is batting .333 with four Home Runs and 36 RBIs. The Grenadiers also have a strong pitching staff, led by junior ace Brandon Hoover, who has a record of 9-2 with a 2.48 ERA.
The Grenadiers will be looking to make some noise in the conference tournament and punch their ticket to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regionals.
The Game

The Conference Tournament starts on Wednesday, May 24 and the Grenadiers will take on Marian University at 4:00 p.m. EST. It’s a single elimination tournament, so every game is important. But the IU Southeast baseball team is ready for the challenge. They’ve been through a lot this season and they’re not going to let anything stop them from chasing their dreams.
