Bouknight began playing organized basketball when he was just five years old. He starred for his local youth team, the New Heights AAU squad, before eventually enrolling at Putnam Science Academy a prestigious boarding school in Connecticut that has produced numerous NBA players over the years.

Bouknight averaged 20 points per game as a junior at Putnam Science Academy leading his team to the National Prep Championship game He then opted to reclassify and repeat his junior year in order to better prepare himself for the rigors of Division I college basketball As a senior, Bouknight averaged 22 points and six rebounds per game while shooting nearly 50 percent from three-point range He was subsequently named a McDonald’s All-American and ranked as one of the top 30 prospects in the country by most major recruiting outlets.

Bouknight ultimately chose to stay close to home and play his college basketball at the University of Connecticut As a freshman for the Huskies during the 18-19 season Bouknight saw action in 37 games and started 13 contests. He averaged 10 points and three rebounds per game while shooting 41 percent from the field and 32 percent from three-point range.

Bouknight was born on June 11th, 2001, in New York City He grew up playing AAU Basketball for some of the biggest programs in the country. During his High School career, he played for multiple schools including Putnam Science Academy, where he helped lead them to a state championship After his freshman year of high school he transferred to MacDuffie School in Granby, Massachusetts. During his time at MacDuffie, he averaged over 20 points per game and led them to a appearances in both the NEPSAC prep school National Championships

After his junior year at MacDuffie School, Bouknight decided to transfer back home to New York City and play his final year of high school basketball at Christ The King high school During his senior season at Christ The King Bouknight averaged over 26 points per game and was named a McDonald’s All-American. He was also named the co-MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic Regional Game after scoring 24 points.

After graduating high school Bouknight committed to play College Basketball at the University of Connecticut As a freshman at UCONN, Bouknight started 27 out of 29 games and averaged 13 points per game while shooting over 45% from the field. He was named to the Big East All-Freshman team and helped lead UCONN to an appearance in the NCAA tournament

Entering his sophomore season, there were high expectations for Bouknight as he was expected to be one of the best players in the Big East Conference Unfortunately, during an exhibition game prior to the start of his sophomore season, Bouknight suffered a dislocated elbow which caused him to miss significant time during his sophomore campaign.
