Lee has been playing baseball since he was five years old. He started out as a pitcher and first baseman, but soon began playing all over the field. When he was in high school he played shortstop, third base, and outfield. As a senior, he played mostly third base and pitcher. He was also a member of the varsity basketball team
Lee’s hitting has always been his strength. As a senior, he hit .485 with eight home runs and 34 RBIs. He was named First Team All-State and First Team All-Region in Class 4A by the Uri Baseball Coaches Association. He was also named to the KC metro area All-Star team
