The Wildcats were led by sophomore guard Kayla Goth, who scored a career-high 28 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, to go along with five rebounds and four assists in the victory.

The win improves Kansas State’s record to 15-4 on the season and 6-2 in conference play, while Texas falls to 9-10 overall and 1-7 in Big 12 action.

The Wildcats got off to a hot start, making eight of their first 10 shots from the field to take an early 18-10 lead. Texas would trim the lead to four points on two occasions in the first quarter, but Kansas State would take a 23-16 lead into the second quarter.

The Wildcats took their largest lead of the game at 60-46 after a three pointer by Goth with just over one minute left in the quarter. Texas would make a couple of late baskets to trim the lead back to 12 points heading into the fourth quarter

In the fourth quarter Texas would get no closer than 10 points as Kansas State held on for their sixth conference win of the season. K State was victorious despite being outrebounded 47-32 by Texas in the game. The Wildcats made up for it by shooting 50% (24/48) from the field and 46% (6/13) from three point range while holding Texas to just 36% (23/64) shooting from the field and 28% (6/21) from three point range.
