Kelly Johnson is a former professional baseball player who played for the Atlanta Braves Arizona Diamondbacks, Toronto Blue Jays New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers He was born in San Diego California, on August 22, 1974. Johnson was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the second round of the 1992 Major League Baseball Draft out of High School He made his Major League debut with the Braves in 1998.Johnson was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2001. He helped the Diamondbacks win the 2001 World Series Johnson was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays in 2008. He signed with the Yankees as a free agent in 2009. He won a World Series with the Yankees in 2009. Johnson was traded to the Dodgers in 2012. He retired from baseball after the 2013 season.
Johnson’s career batting average was .263, with 1,200 hits andba 246 home runs He also had 1,028 runs batted in (RBIs) and an on-base plus Slugging percentage (OPS) of .800.

Learning the ropes in the Major Leagues
Johnson was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1986 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his debut with the Pirates in 1989, appearing in four games. He was traded to the Baltimore Orioles in 1990 and spent time in both the Major Leagues and Minor Leagues before being claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Braves in 1991. Johnson became a regular starter for the Braves in 1992 and helped the team win the National League pennant that year. He continued to play for the Braves until he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 1999. Johnson won a World Series championship with the Diamondbacks in 2001 and also played for the San Francisco Giants Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers before retiring in 2015.

Kelly Johnson was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 2000 MLB Draft He made his debut with the Braves in 2005, and played with the team until he was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2010. He played with the Diamondbacks for two seasons before being traded to the Toronto Blue Jays where he played for one season. In 2013, Johnson Signed a Free Agent contract with the New York Yankees where he currently plays.
Helping the Yankees win a World Series
In 1993, Johnson helped the Yankees win a World Series title as a valuable utility player. He played in all four World Series games against the Toronto Blue Jays starting two of them. In Game 2, he played first base and had two hits, including a home run in four at-bats. In Game 4, he played left field and went 0-for-3. For the series, Johnson batted .250 with one home run and two RBIs.

Kelly Johnson was born on April 16, 1884 in Clawson, Alabama. He played semi-Professional Baseball before making his Major League debut with the Philadelphia Athletics in 1906. Johnson played with the Athletics for two seasons before joining the Boston Red Sox in 1908. He played with the Red Sox for four seasons and was a member of the 1912 World Series championship team. Johnson’s career batting average was .302 and he had 1,702 hits in 1,583 games. He retired from baseball in 1917.
Johnson’s son, also named Kelly, was born on October 4, 1916 in Danville, Illinois. He played baseball at the University of Illinois and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 1938. He played minor league baseball for two years before being called up to the Tigers in 1940. Kelly Johnson Jr. played four seasons with the Tigers and Chicago Cubs before serving in the military during World War II. He returned to baseball in 1946 and played for the Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates until his retirement in 1951. His career batting average was .256 and he had 1,454 hits in 1,442 games.
