The Kshaa Basketball Rankings: Mid-Season Update
As we move into the second half of the 2019-2020 High School Basketball season it’s time to take a look at how the top teams in the state are faring.
In the Kshaa Basketball Rankings, there is a clear top four, with Louisville Trinity leading the pack followed by Covington Catholic Scott County and McCracken County.
Louisville Trinity (17-1) remains in the top spot after an impressive first half of the season. The Shamrocks’ only loss came to ranked Ohio team Cincinnati Moeller, and they have since rebounded with eight straight wins. During that stretch, they have beaten five ranked opponents, including then-#2 Covington Catholic.
Covington Catholic (16-3) falls to #2 after suffering back-to-back losses to Louisville Trinity and Scott County. The Colonels have since bounced back with five straight wins, including a victory over then-#4 McCracken County.
Scott County (16-3) moves up to #3 after defeating Covington Catholic and McCracken County in consecutive games. The Cardinals lost to Louisville Trinity early in the season but have since put together an eleven-game Winning Streak They will look to avenge their loss to Trinity when they face off again on February 8th.
McCracken County (15-5) rounds out the top four at #4 after falling to Covington Catholic and Scott County in recent weeks. The Mustangs had been on a tear prior to those losses, winning eight in a row including victories over then-#5 Bowling Green and then-#6 Graves County
