The Main Characters of Kuroko No Basketball
--Tetsuya Kuroko The main protagonist of the series, Kuroko is a former member of Teikō’s legendary Generation of Miracles He was the ” Phantom Sixth Player” of the team, who acted as its secret weapon. After graduating from Teikō, he enrolls at Seirin High with the hope of bringing the school their first ever Inter-High Championship. He is gifted with a lack of presence and is largely ignored by others; however, he possesses great observation skills and analytical prowess, which allows him to notice his teammates’ habits and play styles. He also has Fog playing style which makes him able to pass through defenders unnoticed and set up his teammates for open shots. Because he specialized in passing during his time at Teikō, Kuroko is an extremely selfish player who only passes to his teammates if he is sure they will score. However, as he starts playing with Kagami and the rest of Seirin, Kuroko slowly starts to change and starts playing for the good of the team instead of himself. At the end of Season 2, it’s revealed that Kuroko hasmia and was only able to play for so long because of his passion for basketball.
-Taiga Kagami: The deuteragonist of the series, Kagami is a returning student from America who enrolls at Seirin high school with the hopes of joining their Basketball team and making it to the National Tournament A naturally talented player, Kagami specializes in dunks and is incredibly fast, which makes up for Kuroko’s lack of speed. He also has a very aggressive playing style which often gets him into trouble on the court. However, Kagami slowly learns to control his emotions after teaming up with Kuroko and helps Seirin win several important games as a result. By Season 3, Kagami has become strong enough to dunk from anywhere on the court and is given the title “The Miracle that Halted Midorima’s 100 Consecutive free throw Streak”.
-Shintarō Midorima: One of Seirin’s main rivals from Shutoku high school Midorima is considered to be one ACEof Shutoku’s “Generationof Miracles”. A naturally gifted player since birth, Midorima always carries around a backpack fullof lucky items which he believes gives him an advantage onthe court.
