The Akashi Way: Part 6

In the previous article, we looked at the first five parts of Akashi’s basketball philosophy. In this final installment, we will examine the last two principles: “the love of the game” and “the joy of victory.”

As Akashi states, “the love of the game is the most important thing. If you don’t love it, you won’t be able to play at your best. And if you can’t play at your best, you won’t be able to win.” This is a very simple but powerful statement. It is the foundation upon which all of Akashi’s success is built.

The second principle, “the joy of victory,” is equally important. Akashi explains that winning is not the only thing that matters, but it is a very important part of the game. Without the joy of victory, there would be no motivation to continue playing.

These two principles work hand-in-hand to create a winning attitude and approach to basketball. They are the cornerstone of Akashi’s success and should be adopted by every player who wants to achieve greatness in this sport.

His overriding drive to be the best has led him to develop his own unique playing style, which he calls “The Akashi Way.”

In previous articles, we’ve looked at some of the elements that make up The Akashi Way. In this final installment, we’ll take a closer look at how Akashi’s shooting and ball-handling abilities have helped him become the player he is today.

As we’ve seen before, Akashi’s shooting is nearly perfect. His form is impeccable, and he almost always hits his shots when it matters most. But what sets him apart from other great shooters is his ability to make the impossible shot. When other players would shy away from taking a difficult shot, Akashi relishes the challenge. He knows that making that shot will not only help his team win, but it will also give him a sense of satisfaction that comes from knowing that he is the best.

Akashi’s ball-handling skills are also superb. He is always in control of the ball, and he never seems to make a mistake when he’s handling it. He is able to make all the right moves at all the right times, and his opponents often find themselves flailing helplessly as they try to keep up with him.

With his combination of shooting and ball-handling skills, Akashi Seijuro is able to take over a game whenever he wants to. His opponents know that they can never relax when he’s on the court, because they know that he always has a chance to score. And even when they’re able to keep up with him for a while, they eventually tire out and Akashi takes over again. That’s just The Akashi Way.

The Akashi Way is a term used to describe the playing style of Seijūrō Akashi, the captain of Rakuzan High School’s Generation of Miracles. Akashi’s style of play is characterized by its focus on winning above all else; he is willing to sacrifice anything and everything for the sake of victory. This includes his teammates, whom he often berates for their mistakes; his own body, which he pushes to its limits; and even his own life, as shown when he nearly killed himself during a game in order to win.

While Akashi’s single-minded focus on victory may seem cold and heartless, it is actually motivated by a deep love for basketball. Akashi fell in love with the game after watching a Street Basketball match between two strays, and he has been dedicated to it ever since. In his eyes, basketball is the most beautiful thing in the world; it is an art form that should be cherished and pursued with all one’s heart. This is why Akashi puts so much pressure on himself and why he expects nothing less than perfection from his teammates. He truly believes that they are capable of greatness and that anything less than that would be a waste of their talents.

While Akashi’s playing style may seem unorthodox or even unfair at times, there is no denying that it gets results. Rakuzan has won three consecutive Interhigh Championships under his leadership, and they are currently undefeated in official matches with him as captain. In addition, Akashi has individually led his team to victory in many games that they would have otherwise lost; most notably, the game against Shutoku where he single-handedly outscored Shutoku’s entire team in the fourth quarter to win the game.

There is no doubt that Seijūrō Akashi is an extraordinary player; however, whether or not his playing style is ultimately beneficial for basketball as a whole is up for debate.
