The Coaches
The Lanier County High School basketball team is coached by Joe Johnson and Jason Williams Coach Johnson is in his first year at Lanier County, and Coach Williams is in his third. Both coaches are committed to teaching the game of basketball to their players and helping them develop as athletes.
The team’s assistant coaches are Tim Edwards, who is in his first year with the team, and Brian Johnson, who is in his second. Coach Edwards focuses on player development and strength & conditioning, while Coach Johnson works with the team’s shooters.
The Coaching Staff is rounded out by volunteer Assistant Coach Matt Mitchell who has been with the program for three years. Coach Mitchell works with the players on their individual skillsets.

Lanier County High School is located in Lakeland, Georgia and is part of the Lanier County School District. The school was founded in 1952 and its colors are green and gold. The school’s mascot is the Trojan and its teams compete in GHSA Class AAAA.
Lanier County High School’s Basketball Program has a long and storied history. The Trojans have won two State Championships in 1963 and 1965, and have been to the State Tournament eight times overall. The team has produced many Great players over the years, including NBA All-Star Dominique Wilkins
The Trojans are coached by Mark Davis, who is entering his fifth season at the helm. Coach Davis has led Lanier County to two state tournament appearances, in 2014 and 2015, and has a career record of 95-37.
