Liberty Baseball Scores Another Win
The Liberty baseball team won again today, continuing their Winning Streak The final score was 6-4, with Liberty coming out on top. This is the team’s fifth consecutive win, and they show no signs of slowing down.
The team’s next game is scheduled for tomorrow against their arch-rivals, the Freedom Eagles. Liberty is currently undefeated in conference play and a win tomorrow would cement their position at the top of the standings.
Liberty Defeats George Mason
The Liberty Flames Baseball Team defeated the George Mason Patriots 5-2 on Tuesday night. The game was the first of a three-game series between the two teams.
The Patriots took an early lead, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. The Flames answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning, and they never looked back.
George Mason was able to get one run back in the top of the ninth inning but Liberty held on for the win.
With the victory, Liberty improves to 18-16 on the season. They will look to continue their winning ways when they face George Mason again tomorrow night.
Liberty Advances to Face Virginia
Liberty took another step towards an NCAA regional bid as they downed Maryland Eastern Shore 7-2 to advance to the winners bracket final of the Big South Conference Baseball Tournament With the win, the Flames (37-18) will face top-seeded and regular season champion Virginia (39-17) Saturday at 10 a.m. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
Liberty starting pitcher Josh Richardson (9-1) was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after tossing six innings of one-run ball, while relievers Andrew Kennedy and Kolton Harring combined to pitch three scoreless frames out of the bullpen.
At the plate, third baseman Jake Kimble went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs, while Left fielder Jordan Stanley was 2-for-4 with two runs scored Center fielder D.J. Artis also continued his torrid nt play going 1-for3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI.
Liberty Eliminates George Mason
Liberty scored early and often as they eliminated George Mason from the Atlantic Conference Baseball Tournament with an 11-1 win. The game was never in doubt as Liberty led 9-0 after five innings. It is the second time in the last three years that Liberty has eliminated George Mason from the tournament.
Liberty Advances to A-10 Championship
Liberty won its second game in the Atlantic 10 tournament, defeating St. Bonaventure 8-3 on Thursday night The victory advanced the Flames to the A-10 Championship game where they will face top-seeded VCU on Friday afternoon.
The Flames got off to a hot start, scoring three runs in the first inning. They added two more in the second and three in the third to take an 8-0 lead. St. Bonaventure scored three runs in the seventh inning but Liberty held on for the win.
Eli Japanese was 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Liberty offensively. Ryan Selesky and Andrew Yacyk each had two hits and one RBI as well. Starter Brant Smith pitched 6.1 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits while striking out four to get the win for Liberty.
With the win, Liberty improves to 32-24 on the season and will face VCU (39-17) in the A-10 Championship game on Friday afternoon at 2:00pm ET. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
Liberty to Face VCU in A-10 Championship
The Liberty baseball team won the Atlantic 10 conference championship on Sunday with a 5-1 victory over Virginia Commonwealth University The Flames will now face the University of Virginia in the NCAA tournament
This is Liberty’s first Conference Championship since 2014, when they were members of the Big South Conference Liberty has made six straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament
Liberty Defeats VCU to Win A-10 Championship
Liberty scored another Big Win on Saturday, defeating VCU 8-3 to take home the A-10 Championship Title It was a total team effort, with contributions from throughout the lineup.
The Flames got off to a hot start, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. They never looked back, adding two more runs in the third and three in the fifth. VCU scored a few late runs, but it wasn’t enough to mount a comeback.
It was an impressive performance from Liberty, who showed why they are one of the best teams in the country. They will now turn their attention to the NCAA tournament where they will be a top seed
Liberty Advances to NCAA Tournament
The Liberty baseball team won its second game in the NCAA tournament on Sunday, defeating Iowa 5-2. With the victory, the Flames advance to the regional final, where they will face off against top-seeded East Carolina
Liberty got off to a hot start in the game, scoring three runs in the first inning. They added another run in the second and held on for the win, despite giving up a pair of runs in the seventh inning.
The Flames have now won two games in the tournament and need just one more victory to advance to the College World Series They will face East Carolina on Monday at 7pm ET.
Liberty Defeats Florida State
The Liberty Flames Baseball Team defeated the Florida State Seminoles by a score of 9-3 on Tuesday night. The Flames are now 2-0 on the young season.
Liberty Advances to Super Regional
The Liberty Flames Baseball team kept their season alive with a win in the NCAA tournament advancing to the Super Regional round.
The Flames defeated the Florida Gators 6-1 in game three of the Gainesville Regional earning a spot in the Super Regional for the first time since 2014.
Liberty will now face off against the defending National Champion Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville. The best-of-three series will begin on Friday, with game two set for Saturday and, if necessary, game three on Sunday.
