Introduction

Lincoln Way East Baseball is a tradition of excellence. For over 50 years, our program has strived to provide our student-athletes with the best possible experience while instilling the values of hard work determination, and sportsmanship. Our program has produced numerous collegiate and professional players, as well as many successful coaches at all levels. We take great pride in our tradition and our accomplishments, and we are committed to continuing to provide our student-athletes with the best possible baseball experience

The Early Years

Lincoln Way East Baseball has a long and proud tradition of excellence. The Early Years section of our website is dedicated to celebrating the achievements of our team during its early years.

Lincoln Way East Baseball was founded in 1960, and quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with. During our first decade of play, we won nine State Championships and six National Championships We were also named National High School Champions in 1970.

During the 1980s, we continued our winning ways, capturing eight state championships and three national championships. We were also named National high school Champions in 1981 and 1982.

The 1990s were a decade of transition for Lincoln Way East Baseball We won five State Championships during the decade, but did not win any national championships. However, we did produce some outstanding individual players during this period, including two-time All-American pitcher Mark Prior and Major League All-Star outfielder Matt Murton.

Lincoln Way East Baseball entered the new millennium with a renewed commitment to excellence. We won four State Championships and two national championships in the 2000s, and produced some of the most talented players in the country, including Major League All-Star pitcher Chris Carpenter and National Player of the Year third baseman Alex Gordon.

We are proud of our rich tradition of excellence at Lincoln Way East Baseball, and we look forward to continued success in the years to come!

The Dynasty

The Lincoln Way East baseball program has been one of the most successful in the state of Illinois, winning numerous State Championships and producing many Major League Baseball players. The Dynasty began in the late 1970s, when the Lincoln Way East high school baseball team won four consecutive state championships Led by future Major League stars like Greg Maddux Frank Thomas and Eric Davis the Dynasty dominated Illinois high school baseball for nearly a decade.

The New Millennium

Since the turn of the millennium, Lincoln Way East Baseball has continued its tradition of excellence, winning multiple conference and Sectional championships. In addition, 3 former Griffins have gone on to play Major League Baseball

The Coaching Staff

The Lincoln Way East Coaching Staff is made up of some of the most experienced and knowledgeable coaches in the area. With over 20 years of experience between them, they have a wealth of knowledge to share with their players. They are committed to helping their players develop their skills and reach their full potential.

The Head Coach Mark Stevens, has been with the program for 10 years. He has a passion for the game and for teaching the game to others. His experience as a player and as a coach gives him a unique perspective on the game. He is dedicated to helping his players reach their goals, both on and off the field.

Assistant coaches Mike Thomas and Jason Brown bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the program as well. Coach Thomas has been with the program for 5 years and has coached at all levels, from youth to college. Coach Brown is in his first year with the program but has coached at both the high school and collegiate levels. They are both committed to helping their players develop their skills and reach their full potential.

The Players

Lincoln Way East Baseball has had many Great players come through its ranks over the years. Some of these players have gone on to have very successful careers in professional baseball while others have had successful collegiate careers. Regardless of their level of success, each and every one of these players has helped to create a tradition of excellence that is synonymous with Lincoln Way East Baseball.

The Fans

The fans are the lifeblood of any baseball team They are the ones who pack the stands and cheer their team to victory. Lincoln Way East Baseball has some of the most dedicated and passionate fans in all of baseball. They have been known to travel great distances to support their team.
