The Longwood Lancers men’s Basketball team is a Division I college basketball team that competes in the Big South Conference The Lancers are currently coached by Griff Aldrich. They play their home games at the Willett Hall in Farmville, Virginia.

The Lancers have appeared in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament four times. Their combined record is 4–4.

The Lancers have had six head coaches in their history. The current Head Coach is Griff Aldrich, who was hired on April 11, 2014.

Senior guard Jaylen Benton

Jaylen Benton is a senior guard on the Longwood Lancers men’s Basketball team He is from Richmond, Virginia and attended Hermitage High School Benton is 6’3″ and weighs 190 pounds. This season, he is averaging 5.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game

Junior forward Jordan Cintron

Junior forward Jordan Cintron is one of the newer members of the Longwood Lancers men’s basketball team A transfer from South Florida Cintron has made an immediate impact on the team.

Cintron is a 6’7″, 200-pound forward who brings a unique skill set to the Lancers. A versatile player, Cintron is equally comfortable shooting from long range or driving to the basket. He’s also a good rebounder and defender, making him a valuable asset on both ends of the court.

Cintron has only been with the team for a few months, but he’s already become one of the Lancers’ most important players. He’ll be counted on to provide scoring and rebounding as the Lancers look to improve on their 13-17 record from last season.

Sophomore forward D.J. Jeffries

Sophomore forward D.J. Jeffries is one of the Key Players on the Longwood Lancers men’s basketball team He averaged 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game as a freshman, and he is expected to play an even bigger role this season.

Jeffries is a versatile player who can score inside and out. He has a good mid-range game, and he is also a good three-point shooter. On defense, he is a solid rebounder and shot blocker.

Jeffries was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He played his high school basketball at Olive Branch high school where he was named an honorable mention All-American by USA Today He chose to attend Longwood because of the school’s strong academics and the chance to play basketball at the Division I level.

Freshman guard Mikey Dixon

The Longwood Lancers are a Division I college basketball team that competes in the Big South Conference The team is headquartered in Farmville, Virginia, and they play their home games at the Willett Hall. The Lancers are coached by Griff Aldrich.

The team’s roster includes Freshman guard Mikey Dixon, who is from Baltimore, Maryland. Dixon is 6’0″ and weighs 170 pounds. He attended Mount Saint Joseph high school where he was a four-star recruit according to ESPN.com.

Freshman forward Jakob Loder

Jakob Loder is a 6’9″ freshman forward from Reading, Pennsylvania. He played his high school basketball at Berks Catholic high school where he was a four-year starter and helped lead his team to the state playoffs three times. Loder was named a First Team All-State selection as a senior after averaging 21 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks per game. He was also named theReading Eagle Player of the Year.

Loder chose to attend Longwood University because of its strong academics and its location in Virginia. He is hoping to help the Lancers win a conference championship and make the NCAA tournament during his time at Longwood.

Freshman forward Luke Loewe

Luke Loewe is a 6’7″ freshman forward from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. He played his high school basketball at Central Bucks West. As a senior, he averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds per game He was named Second Team All-State and First Team All-League.

Freshman guard Matt Lewis

Matt Lewis is a freshman guard on the Longwood Lancers men’s basketball team He is from Hampton, Virginia and attended High School at Hampton Roads Academy. Lewis is 6’3″ and weighs 195 pounds.

The Longwood Lancers coaching staff

The Longwood Lancers Coaching Staff is led by head coach Griff Aldrich. He is assisted by associate Head Coach Joe Meehan, assistant coaches Kelvin Johnson and Bryan Schell, and director of operations Austin McBroom

The Lancers have had great success under Coach Aldrich, who took over the program in 2016. In his first season, Longwood went 20-12 overall and 13-5 in the conference, winning the regular season title. They followed that up with a 21-11 overall record and a 13-5 conference record in 2017-2018, again winning the regular season title. Last season, the Lancers had their best season yet under Aldrich, going 26-6 overall and 15-3 in conference play They won both the Regular Season and conference tournament titles, earning their first NCAA Tournament berth in school history.

The Lancers will take on some tough competition, including non-conference opponents like the University of Virginia and Penn State University Tip-off for the first game is set for November 10th at 7:00pm, so make sure you mark your calendars!

The Lancers are led by Head coach Griff Aldrich, who is entering his third season at the helm. Coach Aldrich has led the Lancers to back-to-back winning seasons and is looking to continue that trend this year. The team is returning a core group of talented players, including leading scorer senior guard Jeantal Cylla and rebounding machine junior forward Shaq Roland. With a strong mix of veterans and newcomers, the Lancers are poised for another successful season
