The 2019 Lynchburg baseball roster is out, and we’ve got a quick rundown of the team for you! The roster includes:

Catchers: Reese Albert, Jesse Weidman

Meet the Infielders of the 2019 Lynchburg Baseball Roster

The Lynchburg Baseball roster is set and we could not be more excited to introduce you to the team! This year, we have an incredible group of young men who are dedicated to the sport and committed to making Lynchburg baseball one of the best programs in the country.

We are proud to announce our 2019 infielders:

· Evan Driver – Catcher
· Seth Harrison – First Base
· Owen King – Second Base
· Ryder Miconi – Third Base
· Will Weston – Shortstop
· Chase Youngblood – Utility Infielder/Pitcher

Evan Driver is a 5’10” sophomore from Richmond, Virginia. He comes to us from Highland Springs High School where he was a two-time All-District selection. As a catcher, Evan has a strong arm and is very accurate when throwing out would-be base stealers. He is also an excellent blocker and takes charge of the Lynchburg pitching staff. Offensively, Evan hits for average and has surprising power for his size. He is a tough out and we are excited to see what he can do this season.

Seth Harrison is a 6’1” junior first baseman from Roanoke, Virginia. He attends Hidden Valley high school where he was named First Team All-Conference as a junior. Seth is a big left-handed hitter with power to all fields. He will be one of our top run producers this season and we are looking forward to seeing him in the middle of our lineup.

Owen King is a 5’11” sophomore second baseman from Bedford, Virginia. He comes to us from Liberty High School where he was named First Team All-Con conference as a junior. Owen is an excellent contact hitter with gap power. He is also a very solid defender with good range and soft hands. We are excited to have Owen as our starting second baseman this season.

Get to Know the Outfielders of the 2019 Lynchburg Baseball Roster

The Lynchburg Baseball Roster for 2019 is here, and we want to help you get to know the outfielders! This year’s team is packed with talented young men who are ready to take their game to the next level. Here are the Lynchburg outfielders you’ll be cheering on this season.

Will Anderson is a senior from Virginia Beach Virginia. He attended Norfolk Academy where he played baseball and football Anderson is a five-time all-conference selection and was named the conference Player of the Year in 2018. He hit .313 with four home runs 20 RBIs, and 19 stolen bases his senior year. Anderson was also a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Athlete Leadership Council. He plans to study business at Lynchburg.

Andrew Brashear is a junior from Mineral, Virginia. Brashear played baseball and football at Louisa County High School He was named first team all-conference in baseball his junior and senior seasons. Brashear hit .360 with four home runs 23 RBIs, and 31 stolen bases his senior year. He plans to study biology at Lynchburg.

David Dernlan is a sophomore from Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Dernlan played baseball at Ridge High School where he was named first team all-league his junior and senior seasons. He hit .438 with six home runs 30 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases his senior year. Dernlan also played football in high school and was named second team all-league as a wide receiver his senior year. He plans to study business at Lynchburg

Taking a Closer Look at the 2019 Lynchburg Baseball Roster’s Pitchers

As baseball season is just around the corner, fans are eagerly awaiting to see which players their favorite team will have on the field. The Lynchburg baseball team has released its 2019 roster and we’re taking a closer look at the pitchers who will be throwing some serious heat this season.

The first pitcher on the list is right-handed ace, Trey McNutt. McNutt was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2009 and made his way to Lynchburg in 2013. He’s been a key player for the team ever since, becoming one of the most reliable starting pitchers in the league.

next up is another right-handed pitcher, Patrick Wisdom Wisdom was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2012 and made his Lynchburg debut in 2017. He’s shown vast improvement over his two years with the team and has cemented his spot as one of the starting pitchers.

Rounding out the group of starting pitchers is southpaw Tyler Johnson Johnson was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2015 and joined Lynchburg midway through last season. He’s quickly become a fan favorite thanks to his electric style of pitching and impressive performance on the mound.

The bullpen will be anchored by veteran relief pitcher Francisley Bueno. Bueno was signed by Lynchburg prior to last season and proved to be a valuable addition to the team, posting a 3.38 ERA over 61 innings pitched

Joining Bueno in the bullpen is right-handed pitcher Ashton Goudeau. Goudeau was acquired by Lynchburg in a trade with Wichita last year and had an outstanding season, finishing with a 2.01 ERA over 45 innings pitched.

Left-handed pitcher Sam Moll rounds out the group of Relief pitchers Moll was drafted by Pittsburgh in 2014 and made his Lynchburg debut last year. He struggled somewhat early on, but found his groove towards the end of the season and will be looking to build on that momentum this year.

The 2019 Lynchburg Baseball Roster is full of potential. With a mix of veterans and young players the team is looking to make a run at the playoffs this year. Here are some of the players to keep an eye on:

Pitchers:
-Starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw is a 3-time Cy Young Award winner and a 7-time All-Star. He’s one of the best pitchers in baseball, and he’ll be leading the rotation this season.
--relief pitcher Aroldis Chapman is one of the most dominant closers in baseball. He’s coming off a season where he saved 37 games and had a 0.55 ERA.
– setup man Dellin Betances is one of the best middle relievers in baseball. In 2018, he had an ERA of 2.70 and struck out 100 batters in 66 innings pitched.

Catchers:
--Yadier Molina is a 9-time All-Star and a 8-time Gold Glove winner. He’s one of the best defensive catchers in baseball, and he’ll be handling the pitching staff this season.
--Buster Posey is a 6-time All-Star and the 2012 National League MVP. He’s one of the best hitting catchers in baseball, and he’ll be providing some power at the bottom of the lineup.

Infielders:
Freddie Freeman is a 3-time All-Star first baseman who’s coming off a 2018 season where he hit .309 with 27 Home Runs and 98 RBIs. He’s one of the best hitters in baseball, and he’ll be leading the offense this season.
Jose Altuve is a 5-time All-Star second baseman who’s coming off a 2018 season where he hit .315 with 13 home runs and 61 RBIs. He’s one of the best hitters in baseball, and he’ll be providing some power at the top of the lineup.
+ Xander Bogaerts is a 6 software All Star shortstop who batted .288 with 23 home runs last year, And 77 RBI’s ,He also had an OBP Of .360 ,He will more than likely lead off for The Sox this year as their Best hitter

The 2019 Lynchburg Baseball Roster is complete! Here’s a look at how the team was built:

The Lynchburg Baseball Team is made up of 28 players. 22 of those players are from the United States and six are from outside the country.

Of the 28 players on the roster, 18 are pitchers, four are catchers, three are infielders, and three are outfielders.

11 of the 28 players on the roster were drafted by the Lynchburg organization, eight were signed as undrafted free agents and nine were acquired via trade.

19 of the 28 players on the roster have appeared in a Major League game, with pitcher Bryse Wilson being the most experienced player on the team with 16 career games under his belt.
