In the MAAC, there is a lot of parity from top to bottom. As of February 12th, the top eight teams in the conference are separated by just three games. Iona leads the way at 13-3, followed by Siena (12-4), Rider (11-5), Monmouth (11-5), Quinnipiac (10-6), Saint Peter’s (9-7), Manhattan (9-7) and Marist (8-8). With only a few weeks left in the regular season the bottom of the MAAC standings is beginning to take shape. Here’s a look at how each team is faring:
Iona currently sits in last place with a conference record of 2-12. The Gaels have lost four straight games and their last win came against fellow bottom-dweller Niagara, who they currently lead by one game in the standings.
Niagara has struggled all season long and currently has the Worst Record in the conference at 1-13. The Purple Eagles have lost five games in a row and their only conference win came against Iona back in January.
Hebrew is currently in 11th place with a conference record of 4-10. The Hawks have won two of their last three games and are just two games out of tenth place.
Manhattan sits in tenth place with a conference record of 6-8. The Jaspers have lost four of their last five games and are just one game out of ninth place.
Canisius occupies ninth place with a conference record of 7-7. The Golden Griffins have won four of their last six games and are just two games out of seventh place.
