Since 1977, when Marquette University first began sending players to the NBA, there have been a total of 43 alumni who have played in the NBA. Of those 43, 11 have gone on to play 10 or more seasons in the NBA. Most recently, Rudy Gay played his 12th season in 2019-2020.

As of the 2019-2020 NBA season there are a total of Marquette alumni in the NBA, playing for teams in both the Eastern and Western Conferences.

In the Eastern Conference there are six Marquette alumni playing for five different teams. Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat), Jae Crowder (Miami Heat), Jimmy Butler (Miami Heat), Wesley Matthews (Indiana Pacers), Henry Ellenson (Detroit Pistons), and Andrew Bogut (Cleveland Cavaliers).

In the Western Conference there are eleven Marquette alumni playing for nine different teams. Wesley Johnson (Los Angeles Clippers), Jamie Dixon (Phoenix Suns), Juan Anderson (Sacramento Kings), Steve Novak (Utah Jazz), Joe Fulce (Golden State Warriors), Maurice Acker (Houston Rockets), Lazar Hayward (Minnesota Timberwolves), Dwight Buycks (Oklahoma City Thunder), and Djordje Miličić (Portland Trail Blazers).

Since Marquette joined the Big East Conference in 2005, there have been 26 Marquette alumni who have gone on to play in the NBA. Of those 26, 12 have come from the school’s Division I era, which lasted from 1977 to 1988. The other 14 have come from the school’s Division III era, which lasted from 1968 to 1976.
