The game was originally set for 1:00 p.m., but was pushed back due to rain earlier in the day– making it one of only three games in MLB history that were played at night but not considered “night games” for purposes of games played statistics (the others were two Chicago White Sox Cleveland Indians games on September 10th 2008 and September 28th 2008). From 1962 to 1988 Frank Cashen was General Manager for 14 seasons during which time he built up one of baseball’s most successful franchises winning 6 pennants and 2 World Series Championships.
