Our experienced and dedicated coaches have helped develop many players who have gone on to play college and professional baseball Our goal is to provide every player with the opportunity to reach his or her full potential, both on and off the field.

A Brief History of Midlothian Baseball

Midlothian baseball has a long and storied history dating back to the late 19th century. The Midlothian baseball club was founded in 1894 and quickly established itself as one of the Premier Baseball teams in Virginia. The team was a founding member of the Central Virginia baseball league in 1896 and won the League Championship in its inaugural season.

Over the next two decades, Midlothian baseball experienced its golden age. The team won eight league championships between 1896 and 1916, cementing its reputation as one of the best baseball clubs in the state. Several Midlothian players went on to play Professional Baseball including Hall of Famer Goose Goslin.

After a brief hiatus during World War II, Midlothian baseball regained its prominence in the post-war years. The team won back-to-back league championships in 1946 and 1947, and reached the playoffs numerous times in the 1950s and 1960s. Midlothian produced several Major League Baseball players during this time, including All-Star catcher Dick Dietz.

Today, Midlothian is home to two professional baseball teams the Midlothian Senators and the Midlothian Marlins, as well as a highly successful collegiate team, the Midlothian Tigers. The Tigers have won two national championships in the last five years and are currently ranked No. 1 in the nation.
