The History of Milligan University Baseball
Since its inception in 1887, Milligan University Baseball has been a big part of the school’s history. The team has seen many ups and downs over the years, but they have always remained a force to be reckoned with. From their early days as a member of the Appalachian Athletic Association (AAA) to their current status as a Division III powerhouse, the Milligan University baseball team has always been a source of pride for the school and its fans.
During the AAA days, Milligan University Baseball was one of the top teams in the region. The team won the AAA championship in both 1901 and 1902, and they were runners-up in 1903. In addition to their on-field success, the team was also known for its rowdy fans, who were often responsible for starting brawls in the stands.
After the AAA dissolved in 1904, Milligan University Baseball continued to compete as an independent team. In 1913, they joined the newly formed Bluegrass Athletic Conference (BAC), which would later become known as the Kentucky collegiate athletic conference (KIAC). The team enjoyed some success in their new conference, winning titles in both 1916 and 1917.
In 1918, Milligan University discontinued its baseball program due to financial difficulties brought on by World War I. The program would remain inactive for over two decades before being resurrected in 1941. Since then, the team has gone on to enjoy considerable success at both the conference and national levels. They have won eight KIAC championships and made four appearances in the NCAA Division III World Series In recent years they have become one of the premier Division III programs in all of college baseball

The assistant coaches are Jerry Peck, who is in his first season with the team, and Michael Graczyk, who is entering his second season. Both Peck and Graczyk were All-American pitchers in college and have extensive experience coaching at the collegiate level.
The two part-time coaches are Justin Meadows and Tyler Ison. Meadows is a former All-American catcher who played Professional Baseball for six years. He joined the Coaching Staff in 2018. Ison is a former All-American pitcher who played professional baseball for four years. He joined the coaching staff in 2019.
