NBA Mock Draft: Who Will Go Where?

The 2019 NBA draft is just around the corner, and there are plenty of mock drafts out there predicting who will go where. But who will actually end up where? We take a look at the latest mock drafts and give our predictions for the first round of the NBA Draft

Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving is one of the most electrifying young players in the NBA. His combination of speed, handles and shooting make him a dangerous offensive weapon, and he has the potential to be a great point guard in this league for years to come.

Derrick Williams

With the first pick in the NBA Draft the Cleveland Cavaliers select Derrick Williams, small forward from Arizona.

The 6’8″, 240-pound Williams is a versatile player who can score inside and out. He averaged 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore for the Wildcats, shooting 60 percent from the field and 42 percent from three-point range He’s also an excellent free throw shooter, making 76 percent of his attempts last season.

Williams is a good athlete with a high motor, and he has the potential to be a very good defender at the pro level. He’s not particularly long or explosive, but he has good lateral quickness and should be able to guard multiple positions.

Offensively, Williams is at his best around the basket, where he can use his strength and quickness to scores on put-backs and slashes to the hoop. He’s also an excellent mid-range shooter, which will come in handy in today’s NBA where big men are often asked to step out and hit jumpers.

Williams isn’t a great ball handler or passer, which could limit his effectiveness at small forward in the NBA. However, he could see time at Power Forward in small lineups, and he has the potential to develop into a very good all-around player.

Enes Kanter

Enes Kanter a six-foot-ten center from Turkey, is one of the top prospects in the 2011 NBA draft He is expected to be a lottery pick, and many mock drafts have him going as high as third overall. However, there are some concerns about his game. He is not a great offensive player and he does not have the lateral quickness to defend well against NBA centers Nevertheless, he is a big body who can score and rebound, and that will be enough for someone to take a chance on him in the lottery.

Jonas Valanciunas

Jonas Valanciunas is a 7-footer from Lithuania who spent the last two seasons playing professionally in his home country. He’s a big, strong center with Good footwork and decent touch around the basket. He’s not an elite athlete, but he’s a very good rebounder and shot-blocker. Valanciunas is expected to be a first-round pick in the 2011 NBA draft

Kemba Walker

Kemba Walker is one of the most explosive scorers in college basketball The Bronx native averaged 28.5 points and 5.4 assists per game this season for the Connecticut Huskies leading them to an unlikely NCAA championship At just 6-1, Walker is undersized for an NBA shooting guard but he makes up for it with his tremendous quickness and shooting ability. He Projects as a high-scoring combo guard who can create his own shot and also hit the open man when double-teamed.

Jan Vesely

Jan Vesely is a 6’11” power forward from the Czech Republic who originally played for Partizan Belgrade in the Serbian Super League before declaring for the 2011 NBA Draft He’s considered one of the top international prospects in this year’s class, and is expected to be a lottery pick.

Bismack Biyombo

There is no clear-cut No. 1 pick in this year’s NBA Draft but one player who has been climbing up mock drafts lately is Bismack Biyombo, a 6-foot-9, 243-pound center from the Congo.

Biyombo is an intriguing prospect because of his size, length and athleticism. He’s an excellent shot blocker and rebounder, and he has shown flashes of offensive potential. He’s still raw and needs to work on his conditioning, but he has the physical tools to be a very good player in the NBA.

Biyombo is expected to be drafted in the lottery (the top 14 picks), and he could go as high as No. 6 to the Portland Trail Blazers

Brandon Knight

There is still much uncertainty surrounding the upcoming NBA Draft but one player who seems to be consistently rising up mock drafts is Brandon Knight. The freshman point guard from Kentucky has impressed scouts with his play this season, and many now believe that he could be a top-five pick in the draft.

Knight is an excellent scorer and has shown the ability to take over games when needed. He has good speed and quickness, and is a solid outside shooter. He also has good size for a point guard at 6’3″, and should be able to defend either backcourt position in the NBA.

The biggest knock on Knight is that he may not be a true point guard some scouts believe that his scoring instincts may be too strong, and that he may be better suited as a shooting guard in the NBA. However, Knight has the talent to be a very good player at either position, and whichever team drafts him will likely be very happy with their choice.

Alec Burks

Alec Burks is a shooting guard from the University of Colorado He is 6’6” and195 pounds. As a junior, he averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game

Burks is projected to be a late first-round pick in the 2011 NBA draft He is an excellent shooter with good range on his jump shot He is also a good ball-handler and passer for his size. Burks needs to improve his defense and rebounding to be successful at the next level.

Jimmer Fredette

With the final college Basketball season games being played this week, it’s time to take a look at the NBA Mock drafts and see where the experts think Jimmer Fredette will go in the draft.

There is no doubt that Fredette can score, averaging 28.5 points per game this season and hitting 52 percent of his three-point shots. He also has demonstrated the ability to play point guard although he is not as tall as many NBA point guards

One issue that may concern some NBA teams is that Fredette played for a small school, Brigham Young University and may not have faced the level of competition that other players have.

Mock drafts are never 100 percent accurate, but they can give us an idea of where experts think a player will be drafted. Here’s a look at where four different mock drafts have Jimmer Fredette going in the 2011 NBA draft
