NBA Stars React to Isaiah Thomas’ 42-Point G League Outburst

Some of the NBA’s biggest stars have taken to social media to react to Isaiah Thomas’ recent 42-point outburst in the G League.
The former All-Star guard, who is currently a free agent put up a monster performance for the Canton Charge on Saturday night, scoring 42 points to go along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Many of the league’s Top Players including Lebron James Kyrie Irving and Damian Lillard took to Twitter to share
Kyrie Irving
Kyrie Irving had nothing but good things to say about his former teammate, Isaiah Thomas after the latter dropped 42 points in a G League game.
“That’s my boy,” Irving said of Thomas. “He’s always going to be one of my favorite people, favorite players to ever play with.”
Irving wasn’t the only one to react to Thomas’ big night. Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James also sent his congratulations to the point guard
“Amazing performance by [Isaiah Thomas],” James tweeted. “Keep that same energy.”
Damian Lillard
In a Twitter post, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard reacted to the news of Thomas’ 42-point G League outburst, writing, “Respect man. that’s dope.”
LeBron James
“He’s a hell of a player,” James told reporters. “I think he’s one of the best scorers we have in our league.”
“He’s always been a fighter, he’s always been a winner,” James said of Thomas. “For him to go down the way he did last year and then to have to rehab and rehab and rehab and not know if he was going to be able to play basketball again, it just shows his resilience and his will to want to succeed.”
“We all know how much he loves the game of basketball so for him to go out there and put up 42 points — it doesn’t surprise me,” James said. “I’m happy for him.”
Russell Westbrook
“He’s a baller,” Russell Westbrook said of Thomas’ G League outburst. “No matter what level he’s playing on, he’s going to go out there and compete.”
Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant was one of the first NBA Stars to react to Isaiah Thomas’ 42-point G League outburst, and he did so with high praise.
“Isaiah Thomas is a legend,” Durant tweeted. “He just dropped 42 points in the G League. unreal.”
Durant isn’t the only one who is impressed by Thomas’ performance. Los Angeles Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also took to Twitter to show his support for the veteran point guard
“Keep going I.T.,” Caldwell-Pope tweeted. “We see you.”
Paul George
Paul George was one of the many NBA Stars to take notice of Isaiah Thomas’ recent 42-point outburst in the G League.
“He’s back,” George said of Thomas. “I think he’s found a home in the G League.”
George wasn’t the only one impressed by Thomas’ performance. Los Angeles Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also spoke highly of the 30-year-old point guard
“He looked great out there,” Caldwell-Pope said. “He’s definitely still got it.”
Carmelo Anthony
Carmelo Anthony reacted to Isaiah Thomas’ 42-point outburst in the G League by calling him a star.
“He’s a star. It doesn’t matter what level he’s at, he’s a star,” Anthony said. “When you’ve got that gift, that God-given talent, you can go out there and showcase it anywhere.”
Isaiah Thomas has been on a tear in the G League, averaging 27.0 points, 5.9 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game He most recently dropped 42 points in a win over the Erie BayHawks.
Dwyane Wade
Dwyane Wade took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Isaiah Thomas’ 42-point outburst in the G League. The former Miami Heat star was impressed with IT’s scoring display and even jokingly stated that he “needs to come back.”
Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler was one of the first to react to Isaiah Thomas’ outburst, and he was very impressed.
“Wow, @isaiahthomas put on a show in the G League today,” Butler tweeted. “42 points and 10 assists. That’s what we’re talking about right there.”
Klay Thompson
Klay Thompson, one of the best Shooting Guards in the NBA, reacted to news of Isaiah Thomas’ 42-point outburst in the G League.
“It’s great to see him back out there,” Thompson said. “He’s one of the toughest guys I know.”
Thompson, who has worked out with Thomas in the past, said he wasn’t surprised by his friend’s success.
“He’s a scorer,” Thompson said. “That’s what he does.”
