NJIT Baseball Scores Another Win

The NJIT Highlanders baseball team won their third game in a row today, defeating the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights by a score of 9-3.

The NJIT Highlanders beat the Columbia Lions 5-2 on Tuesday, March 3rd. This was the team’s fourth win in a row. The Highlanders are now 4-3 on the season.

NJIT got off to a hot start, scoring three runs in the first inning. After that, Columbia scored two runs in the top of the fourth to make it a 3-2 game. However, the Highlanders answered back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-2 lead. From there, NJIT’s pitching staff held strong and did not allow Columbia to score any more runs.

This was a Big Win for NJIT, as they continue their quest to make it back to the NCAA tournament after missing out last year. With four wins in a row, the Highlanders are certainly on the right track.

The New Jersey Institute of Technology Highlanders took home another victory this afternoon, with a final score of 7-2 against the Bryant Bulldogs It was a complete team effort, with strong pitching and hitting throughout the game.

Starting pitcher Nick Massa had a great day on the mound, tossing seven innings and only giving up two runs. The offense also came alive, as six different players had at least one hit in the game. Johnathan Coleman and Joe Paladino each had two hits, including a home run apiece.

With the win, NJIT improves to 9-4 on the season. They will be back in action tomorrow afternoon when they take on Stony Brook at 1 PM.

The Highlanders didn’t give up, though, and they scored a run in the bottom of the fourth to make it 2-1. They then tied the game in the bottom of the eighth inning, setting up a dramatic finish.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, freshman pinch hitter Matt Franas singled to lead off the inning. He then stole second base and advanced to third on a wild pitch. With one out and a runner on third, junior second baseman Steve Warren hit a grounder to shortstop that was misplayed, allowing Franas to score and giving the Highlanders a 5-2 victory.

Coach’s Comments

The Highlanders won their game against the Stags yesterday with a score of 9-3. This puts them at 13-4 for the season.

Coach Jordan was proud of his team’s victory and had this to say: “It was a great team effort. We’re really starting to come together and play well.”

He also added that he is looking forward to their upcoming games and is confident that they will continue to do well.
