Eastern Baseball is gearing up for an exciting season! The team is stacked with talent, and they’re ready to take on all comers. Let’s meet the roster:

Pitchers:
-Mike “The Machine” Smith: Mike is a workhorse pitcher who always gives his team a chance to win. He’s got great control and a repertoire of pitches that keep hitters off balance.
-Tom “The Terminator” Richards: Tom is a power pitcher with a killer fastball. He’s been clocked at over 100 mph, and he’s not afraid to use it. He’s also got a sharp curveball that can buckle hitters’ knees.
-Johnny “The Jet” Johnson: Johnny is the team’s closer, and he’s absolutely electric. He comes in firing fastballs and strikes out batter after batter. When he’s on, there’s nobody better in the business.

Catchers:
-Joe “The Slinger” Saunders: Joe is known for his strong arm behind the plate. He routinely throws out would-be base-stealers, and he provides a great target for the pitchers.
-Brian “The Wall” Johnson: Brian is one of the best defensive catchers in the league. He has a great glove, and he knows how to frame pitches to get the most called strikes for his pitchers.

Infielders:
-Brad “The Bat” Anderson: Brad is the team’s cleanup hitter and he packs a serious punch. He hit .303 last season with 25 home runs and he’s only getting better.
-Kyle “Crusher” Jeffries: Kyle is a big first baseman with a sweet swing. He hit .287 last season with 19 home runs and he’s looking to improve on those numbers this year.
-Matt “Masher” Maxwell: Matt is a third baseman with a ton of power. He hit .278 last season with 17 home runs and he’s looking to have an even better year this time around.
-Tommy “Flash” Gordon: Tommy is the team’s shortstop, and he’s one of the quickest players in the league. He has great range in the field and uses his speed to leg out extra base hits on offense.

The Team’s Pitching Staff

The Northeastern Baseball Team pitching staff is the team to beat this season. The staff is anchored by two returning all-conference seniors, Justin Atwood and Nick Brassard. They are joined by junior all-conference selection Mike Curran and sophomore ace Matt O’Brien. The starting rotation is rounded out by junior Chris Cardullo and sophomore Kyle Hart. The pitching staff has a combined ERA of 3.51 and has held opponents to a batting average of .234.

The Team’s Infield

The Northeastern Huskies Baseball team’s infield appears to be particularly strong this season. At first base is senior captain Jake Burton, who batted .335 last season with 6 Home Runs and 37 RBIs. At second base is junior Sean O’Hara, who was second on the team in batting average last season at .333. He also had 5 home runs and 36 RBIs. Shortstop is freshman Timmy Saunders, who was a top High School prospect in the state of Massachusetts and is expected to make an immediate impact on the team. Rounding out the infield at third base is junior Matt Davis, who batted .328 with 10 home runs and 41 RBIs last season.

The Team’s Outfield

The Northeastern baseball team is looking very strong this season. Their outfield, in particular, is a force to be reckoned with. With sluggers like Jake Bowerman and Derek Jeter the team is sure to score lots of runs. The team’s pitching is also looking good, with ace pitcher Matt Ryan leading the way. The Team’s Coaching Staff

The Northeastern Huskies Baseball team is looking to make some noise this season under the guidance of their new Coaching Staff Heading up the team is Skip Wilson, who brings with him over 20 years of experience coaching at the collegiate level. Assisting Coach Wilson will be newly hired pitching coach Tony Rossi and hitting coach Jared McKenzie.

Coach Wilson is no stranger to success, having led his teams to 7 conference championships and 12 NCAA tournament appearances in his career. He is confident that with the talent on this year’s roster, the Huskies have what it takes to make a run at the title.

Pitching coach Tony Rossi comes to Northeastern after a successful stint as the Head Coach at Sacred Art University During his time at Sacred Heart Coach Rossi helped lead the team to 3 conference championships and 2 NCAA Tournament appearances. He is excited to bring his knowledge and expertise to a team with such potential.

Hitting coach Jared McKenzie rounds out the coaching staff Coach McKenzie comes to Northeastern from George Washington University where he spent the last 6 seasons as an Assistant Coach Under his guidance, the George Washington hitters led the conference in batting average 3 times and set a school record for home runs in a season.Coach McKenzie is confident that he can help the Northeastern hitters take their game to the next level.

The Team’s Schedule

The Northeastern baseball team has had an amazing season so far. They are currently ranked first in their conference and are looking to make a run at the playoffs. They will be playing teams like UCLA, USC, and Oregon State The team is also scheduled to play in the College World Series This is an extremely prestigious tournament that only the best teams in the country can compete in. In 2018, the Northeastern Baseball Team had an outstanding season. They had a record of 47-13, which was the best in the nation. They also won the conference tournament and made it to the NCAA tournament This year, they are looking to repeat as conference champions and make it back to the NCAA tournament
